Wait this is made by ubisoft right? Are they doing the same safehouse/birdseyeview system where you unlock areas by capturing a central point?
Wait this is made by ubisoft right? Are they doing the same safehouse/birdseyeview system where you unlock areas by capturing a central point?
no
you can go wherever you want and do all the stuff (if your the right level)
the sat just makes it easier to find the little activities (Jump a ramp, go fast and not fall off the road, smash into targets, etc.) which reward you in car parts. you can still do them if you haven't unlocked the Sat area.
wherever you drive, you can go back there with the fast travel mode.
its honestly a really good arcade racer imo.

Nope, the entire map is playable from the start.

What do you expect in a closed beta?
I couldn't even stand 15 minutes in the beta.
as an american i can confirm this is what america looks like at all times
What a terrible game.
What a terrible game.
The stability of the game is currently poor for many, yes. But it's a beta, this is the entire reason there's a beta. So they can tackle as many problems as they can before release. The game itself is quite fun, driving controls are very customizable, cars handle great, co-op has been quite fun. And the fact the entire world is open to you at the start makes it even better. Wish people would stop judging WIP's so harshly, constructive feedback makes or breaks games in this stage.

Why are they still in beta? So it's not a wreck in 2 months when it releases. Your game is wonky in beta, who would have thought! What do you think betas are for?

beta implies a games under heavy development still which should not be the case for a game coming out in two fucking months but ok be a condescending dick about it dude
i mean i like the game and all but something tells me that the term beta is just for show here for a glorified demo.
modern "betas" are just demos, most of the time very little ends up being changed when the game goes gold
No, even if devs host consumer betas close to gold stage that doesn't mean they are demos. The feedback gathered at that point will reflect the state of the game via patch. There have been beta's that do just that, but that's not the case for the average beta.

No, Alpha implies heavy development. Betas are close to final representations of the final product (or feature complete) that still have many bugs to tackle. This is clearly late stage in beta too given the fact the majority of the issues are optimization issues on the PC. The entire point of this stage of beta is to get rid of these issues so they don't persist in launch build.

Actually alpha stands for heavy development while beta stands for fixing shit up and getting the most bugs out for public release.
It's an MMO, there's gonna be tons of updates anyways.
for example csgo didn't even update when it got released, it was the exact same build as the open "beta"
Yeah? The difference between beta and release build are bugs fixes, rebalancing, and tweaks. That's always been the case, will always be case.

Wish you said it first, you said it with fewer words.
Yours sounds smarter so whatevs
I too enjoy hating Ubisoft games with little to no indication that they will actually be bad on release day.
I have the beta and enjoy it, it's the most enjoyable ubisoft game I have played in awhile, even if I have encountered a couple collision glitches, there is no reason to bash on the game, it's just fun.
I couldn't even stand 15 minutes in the beta.
I am pretty sure driving cars while standing is pretty awful.

Betas are not even true betas anymore. They're glorified demos, and the publishers don't have to pay someone to test their game.

Yeah, usually developers do that. But either way that's incorrect with some exceptions.

Whoever pays for it.

Yeah it is a safe bet that a lot of this shit is going to be in the game upon release, just like the majority of other games that went through "beta".
