I would easily mistake that thumbnail for battlefield 1 concept art were I to see it somewhere else
Did that lad just drown himself at 0:50?
Not bad, This is going on my to watch list.
my biggest problem with this is the color correction, if anything great can be said about nolan is that his movies have very careful use of color, they are dark but they have great saturation - this one has a wishywashy "old photograph" color filter slapped over it, and it's digital the reason it works in private ryan is because it's actual film, it looks really annoying and artificial to me here
Going to see this no matter what but I do agree on the colour being very washed out.

never said anything about ruining, but how professional nolan considers himself to be he should know better than to resort to washed out colors just because its ww2 lmao [img_thumb]http://cdn1.themovienetwork.com/sites/themovienetwork.com/files/fury_8.jpg[/img_thumb] pictured - how colors in 1940 real life probably looked like
i love the sound of the stuka
[QUOTE=TheFilmSlacker;51528832]If this seriously ruins the whole movie for you guys I don't know what to say[/QUOTE] I like how after that video about how the color correction in Marvel movies is bad, everyone is a god damn color grading expert.

yes clearly film enthusiasts pointing out an issue with a trailer as they perceive it is being a backseat expert i bet you enjoy how the matrix looks [IMG]http://www.avsforum.com/photopost/data/2322827/e/e1/e129f930_TheMatrix.jpeg[/IMG] because the bottom one is the version that was in theaters

[QUOTE=UnidentifiedFlyingTard;51528902]Do you also complain about O Brother, Where Art Thou?[/QUOTE] coincidentally, it's also a movie with great use of color [IMG]https://drnorth.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/vlcsnap-285001.png[/IMG] so no, I did not

Color Correction is made in post-production and it's not over yet.
[IMG_thumb]https://i.imgur.com/6k1AV5E.jpg[/IMG_thumb] this does not look like a fun to watch movie for 2 hours. look at this [editline]14th December 2016[/editline] this is what pressing "auto color" in photoshop does to these images by the way, designed to fix botched colors [img_thumb]https://i.imgur.com/RZcJtS6.jpg[/img_thumb]
To anyone curious, here's the leaflet that inspired the one in the trailer. [IMG]http://dunkirk1940.org/data/files/germandunkirkpropagandaleaflet.jpg[/IMG]
I dislike the fact that Stuka sirens are being used for non-Stuka aircraft in this trailer. Hopefully that's different in the movie.
I expected a nice discussion about the accuracy of the movie but instead i got a bunch of people crying because the colors were not pretty Anyway, it looks fantastic and i love how the story remains a bit vague (or you could read the wiki)

For someone who's a film enthusiasts you missed that stylistic choice.

It's argueably not the most riveting piece of history to be made into a movie, but from a budget perspective, employing only half the amount of actors that you'd usually have to employ for a war film probably makes sense. I think the film will be interesting at the very least, but it won't be close to saving private ryan. To think this came from the man who made interstellar, it's a bit lackluster.
on the matrix issue, top is the blue-ray release, which is a blown-up version of the 2002-2003 DVD releases iirc, which looked the same ignore the middle one, it's a fan version bottom one is the original [img_thumb]http://s17.postimg.org/5xfbxny7j/133689.jpg[/img_thumb] [editline]14th December 2016[/editline] the colors becoming green when they go into the matrix are a stupid idea and the watchowskis never intended it to be that way [editline]14th December 2016[/editline] because there already is an enough amount of green in the sets, clothes, etc the "real world" is metallic blue [editline]14th December 2016[/editline] [QUOTE=DiBBs27;51528979]It seems very minimalist, i agree. And yeah, too bad about the coherency of the plot, it could have been done better.
another nolan film where tom hardy plays a masked character on a plane [t]http://i.imgur.com/TuJydd1.png[/t]
[QUOTE=meppers;51529067]another nolan film where tom hardy plays a masked character on a plane [t]http://i.imgur.com/TuJydd1.png[/t][/QUOTE] “Ah you think piss filter is your ally? You merely adopted the yellow. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the unedited version until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding!”
[QUOTE=meppers;51529067]another nolan film where tom hardy plays a masked character on a plane [t]http://i.imgur.com/TuJydd1.png[/t][/QUOTE] Oh wow. That has to be intentional.

This completely takes away from the damp and overcasty feel the original shots have.
