Putin really doesn't sound the way I'd expect him to.

This makes me think there is a good side and a bad side to putin.
Putin's ruthless, and will do what he can to achieve his own ends. Whether these things are good or bad, for Russia or the world, he'll try his damnedest to do them. If this wasn't just fictional propaganda, his interests in this scenario just so happened to be benevolent. He's not the reincarnation of pure evil, he just wants what he wants and gives no fucks about what might get hurt as he tries to get it.

Come on, it's fucking theater and you're buying right into it. Putin's happy to insult and demean these few businessmen with a dozen cameras and reporters present. A hundred more billionaires will be meeting him at the Kremlin for lunch the next day.
