Actually, the owner of the IP (Greg Johnson) created a kickstarter to fund a new Toejam and Earl game with his new company HumaNature. Adult Swim is just the publishers.

I feel like they might be the most fitting of publishers, though, Toejam and Earl just seems like something that could easily fit in their lineup.
