Still not happy with the very concept of remaking a movie with an all female cast because why not instead of creating something new instead. Never will be.

I mean, technically it's still a sequel, she isn't a stand in for Danny Ocean, she's his sister. And apparently Saul (Carl Reiner) and Linus (Matt Damon) show up. But yea, they really didn't need the Ocean's tag except to tie it to an already successful heist franchise.
At least it looks more interesting than Female Ghostbusters did?
I fuck w the cast
I'm optimistic, we'll see how it goes
I remember these movies being pretty cool, never watched the original though, is it "classic American cinema"?
Shit, just realized Sinatra was in the rat pack, I guess Rihanna is here as a reference? Could Sinatra act? Or he didn't really need to, he just played his usual schtick?
All-male reboot of Bridesmaids when
RIP Danny Ocean
Can Rihanna act?
she was actually the best actor in both battleship and valerian

Paint drying is more interesting than Female Ghostbusters so that's not exactly a high bar.
This trailer offended me much less than I expected it to :ohno:
The only thing that triggered me was Sandra Bullock having makeup on in prison.
I mean, it definitely doesn't look bad, it could be okay. Honestly at most it just looks like another forgettable heist movie that you watch on movie night and the next morning you just forget about it. It's not horrendous but it just looks like another AAA movie. I've also never seen Ocean's 11 so I don't exactly have an attachment to the franchise like that

Couldnt tell you if he was any good in 1960 oceans 11, but yeah he was a good actor. Not the best, but still good in his own right.
Maybe i'm biased though, I love von ryans express.
Something will have to go terribly wrong to completely waste all of that talent.

To me, that's exactly what's wrong with it. It's so run of the mill and such an obvious cash cow by clinging to the Ocean's franchise with the only real twist is that it's women stealing feminine things. It's just another common denominator movie that Sony has been so keen on releasing over the last couple of years. I mean, it could be held together just by some of the talented actresses involved but I can't imagine it will be any more memorable than "hey, remember this gender-flopped film." Something to watch on a boring Sunday afternoon and forget about afterwards.
Seems like it could be decent. Hard to tell from the trailer but at least it's not a remake.
I'm not sure what's the benefit of being tied to some other tangentially related movie though when you've already got 8 brand new main characters. I mean I've only seen 11 and not the sequels so idk

The Hangover?
Wow all those characters in the film look like some very popular actresses. There's one that looks almost just like Julia Roberts and I think I can see a character that looks a lot like Anne Hathaway.
[editline]k[/editline]
Looking at it again one looks like Rihanna a bit.
They should use their resemblence with celebrities to do a heist it will definitely be really funny hahaha
That'll be because it is Rihanna and Anne Hathaway?
edit:
joke
my head
Sandra Bullock doing her Sandra Bullock thing at the beginning doesn't help. Cate Blanchett and Sarah Paulson are good though.
That'll be because it is Rihanna and Anne Hathaway?
I'm pretty sure he's taking the piss because of the whole Julia Roberts disguises herself as Julia Roberts thing in the second film.

It kind of reminds me of blaxploitation, just all-female instead of all-black
Looks great. I think people are overreacting. Heists are done by all types of people, so an all female cast doesn't take away anything the way I see it. It just adds a new dynamic.
i'll go see it because i always enjoyed the movie series but it really is, at least from the trailer, going to be hard not see this as some forced 'all female because diversity' bullshit that ruined Ghostbusters.
Just stop 'rebooting' classic series with an all female cast, they think it'll be some easy way to introduce a female lead movie if they dress it up with a sugarcoat of nostalgia or established fans and all it does is make a mockery of the originals and come across as utterly forced and even political.
Just make new movies. Period, all female all male, race religion ECT. just stop forcing it on established long running series it's not that fucking hard.
As long as this movie is still very Ocean's like it shouldn't be a problem, but the whole trailer oozes this 'female perspective' of married life with kids, mothers on your back for not marrying yet "omg taylor swift". The other oceans movies weren't really 'manly' and even had strooooong female roles in them, i'm worries they're going to make the men look incredibly weak and not be fair by exploiting this doing the opposite where oceans still gave women strong roles.

I would say it's bad blaxploitation, there are some gems that are amazing within that genre.

No thank you Hollywood. Plenty of talented actresses here who could all be in a more interesting looking film than a lazy rehash of a remake.
Now hear me out, what if we had the leads in this film in a movie where they not only play normal people who have limited skill sets, but also trapped in the antarctic science base and encounter a shapeshifting monster from space that can turn into any of them. We can call it..."The Thing.y".

So another remake of a remake? Great idea
