Beats are way over priced, my brother bought a pair for like $500 or something, I've heard the same quality with $150 headphones. They are really loud though.

I pretty sure they have "special" editions like "studio" and "pro". Anyone who buys beats is paying 100$ for headphones, and 200$ for the brand.

Essentially Beats just run an equalizer over everything, and if you have a phone with 'audio by beats' it'll run a reverse shitty equalizer over everything if you turn it off. Its not about quality its about a simple trick to make people think they're better.
That and they're mostly a status item.
