A new gaming channel me and my friends started (Shameful Self-Advertising, The Thread) - General

Hello kindly and merciful gentlemen and women of Facepunch, I'm here to ask for some constructive criticism/gain a fanbase for a gaming channel me and some friends started called [B][U]SPACE LOBSTERS GAMING.[/U][/B] Because bolding, underlining, and capitalizing text sells, yo. We were recently partnered by youtube and are trying to grow a fanbase through all the competition of vloggers who started gaming channels to play cliche games like Slender, or Amnesia and read off scripts as they exaggerate reactions to the game. If I can promise one thing it's that Space Lobsters Gaming will NOT ever become one of those kinds of channels, we're just guys who want to make a little of scratch from doing something we all love to do; playing video games. So, if you would be inclined, we at Space Lobsters Gaming would appreciate if you could view our videos with Ad Blocker disabled, but it's up to you. The members of Space Lobsters Gaming all come from the online steam group ISF including myself (Joe), Lucas, Sam, and Doc. There is also potential for more people to join in the nearby future, I know it might just seem like self-advertisement but there's a lot of unfair competition out there from people who get hundreds of thousands of subscribers from pandering to the lowest common denominator, making it extremely hard for new people to really get themselves out there in the spotlight. Apart from the content we will be posting on youtube, we also have a facebook page, twitter, and twitch tv page for when we plan on doing livestreams. We'd really appreciate all the help and support you could provide. After all, we just want to try to set a new standard for youtube lp's that isn't like the typical "OMGEE AMNESIA IS SOOO SCARY GUYS AHHHHHH PLEASE DON'T NOTICE THAT I'M READING OFF OF A SCRIPT IN MY FACECAM!" I can't check them out now as I'm in class, but I'll be sure to check out your videos later. I love the banner you have, and those are some great titles you chose for your first videos. Please don't ever stoop low enough to use Minecraft. I know it has a higher chance of raking in viewers, but at what cost? How much humanity can one lose? Because the only real free advertising is either gonna be talking about how delicious mountain dew and Doritos are or word of mouth, and I figured there are way worse places to start than facepunch, I was kinda nervous about posting this thread because I didn't just want to seem like I was pandering. I know our content isn't exactly perfect right now, we're still working out the kinks and stuff in terms of editing and what not but I try to post at least 1 video a day, so there wont be any shortage of entertainment. Once again thank you all for whatever time you take to watch our videos, and help spread the word.

I'm sorry, but making these "lol let's play stupid shit and say stupid shit on top of it" channels pop up EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. There's absolutely [B]NOTHING[/B] you can bring to the table that isn't already there. If you're doing this for your own entertainment, that's fine, but if you're hoping to make it big like the people who started this fad, just give up, it's not gonna happen.

The fad was started long ago but look at shows like two best friends play, they started from next to nothing and they're pretty huge now. I'm it for entertainment sure, but I care a lot about entertaining my fans. I'm not in this to get rich, I'm in this so I can have a marginal chance to maybe make someone's day a little better. Money is a nice bonus, sure, but it doesn't matter if I get huge, as long as I get SOMEWHERE I say it's worth the effort, no matter how many naysayers there are. Your lets plays are alright, Keep it up and you might be a good one.

I finally got around to watching, and the voice is a bit low, but at least the humor isn't forced. The dead space 2 video was a good example as you didn't scream or force any humor. I really think you should try a co-op game where everybody is screaming obscenities at each other; that would be hilarious to watch.

We plan a possible borderlands 2 co-op playthrough with all 4 of us. Edit: Also; Dead Space Part 3 is a good demonstration of how the audio is most likely gonna be for the rest of it, I was just working out the kinks for the first two parts. I'll post it here. I've seen this same shit over the years now, I'd be more interested if you did something new rather than copy hundreds of others who think they can strike it big off of youtube.

I know it's hard to buy into this because it just seems like it'll be the same thing as a billion other channels, I understand but just give us a fair shot, I'm sure we won't dissapoint. Things can only get better from here. Edit: I also plan a quasi-review series once we get a bit more successful and I can afford some better equipment, so there's that to look forward to as well. So it's gonna be a lot more than just watching people play video games. All we need is some investment of time from all of you so I am able to make all of this a reality.

I tried a similar concept a while back with my friends, and just gave up because I realized that I wasn't good at it, and I put a lot of effort into it and felt it wasn't paying off. We've worked out the kinks and the other people involved are making their own videos as we speak so it'll be more than just my dead space lp and the payday videos. Also to address other peoples concerns, I know it's decently cliche to play Dead Space, but hey, it's easy and I wanted to replay it just figured it'd make for a good place to start.
