I'm glad he's branching out into different videos, and his channel seems to be growing really quickly, I'd say he's one of the channels that most deserves it
Higher quality than channels that get millions more views
didn't think i'd be that interested in this but damn that was awesome, and reeeaaally well presented too (as usual). can't wait for the 2nd part. also christ i'd forgotten just how much Robert Zemeckis is responsible for as a film maker till he listed it all out. what a career.
I'm glad he's branching out into different videos, and his channel seems to be growing really quickly, I'd say he's one of the channels that most deserves it
Yeah, I felt really bad for him in that video where he talked about usually being beaten to the punch on debunking videos because of the time and production value in his own videos. This sounds like a great way for him to produce more content and bring in more well deserved views.
this is a bit of a tangent, but I remember seeing a channel grow from essentially the beginning of youtube. it was jogwheel, or the channel with the 'good idea to microwave this' show. what was once a staple for youtube videos has now become a depressing channel where his videos barely top 10K views. he made a video claiming to know the reason why his videos are failing, but essentially it comes down to youtube's algorithm changes. however, I suspect it's a little more than that; his content is outdated, his shows are incredibly underrated, and they just didn't develop any style or trademark that made him stand out (other than occasionally referencing the microwave show in his videos.) to me it seemed like someone who had all their experience in broadcast video try and make youtube shows, which just doesn't work too well (effects and titlecards are still poorly put together, he uses all this stock music and the whole channel is littered with very basic production values.) plus, essentially he's been stagnant in producing content and only posts maybe one or two videos a month? i dunno, his stuff always striked me as ancient and a relic of youtube's bar of quality. now the reason I bring all this up is because when I compare him to CD, I see a completely different perspective. CD has been essentially producing the same content for years, with the same music and similar effects, though updated for HD obviously. I was trying to reason why a channel like Jogwheel can do essentially the same thing (which I must add I enjoyed Jon's movie reviews way back in the day) for years and slowly dwindle, but CD can do exactly that and he not only continues to rank highly on views, but also gets about 25x the amount of fiscal support on Patr eon. especially when jon has over double the subscribers that CD has. but I think it comes down essentially to developing your style as time goes on (in the case of CD he added a bit of story to his characters and updated his style and pacing, while also becoming a better presenter.) it's just crazy to me how much the market has changed over the years for youtube, and creators who were once titans are now so much smaller, with only the biggest names like Smosh just barely surviving, essentially on life support. But someone like CD has not only lived through all the bullshit youtube's pulled, he's also adapted and thrived.
