Anyone remember this scene? NOSTALGIA.

Probably only interesting to the people that have seen the film
The gargoyles almost completely ruined this film.

Really? i thought they were okay.
What about them did you not like?
The gargoyles almost completely ruined this film.
they were added in for comedic relief I think because the rest of the movie was pretty damn adult oriented. Aside from them and the cutesy little trademark disney songs the movies it self was pretty dark and had some pretty adult themes to it
case and point:

Unfunny "comic relief" hurts the soul like nothing else. Cut them out and the film is much better.

I know, which is why the film is still brilliant even with the gargoyles acting as a massive dead weight on it's ascencion to greatness.

Damn, watching that reminded me how epic the soundtrack really is to this film.

It also reminds me how much I miss Tony Jay and his awesome voice :(

Its kind of sad this is the only thing people really remember him for.
He has acted in some pretty weird stuff though, like this old cartoon called Reboot.

That show was excellent. Still, I remember him strongly for his role as the Elder God in the Legacy of Kain series.
This song is also really good in my opinion. The hauntingly powerful image of Esmeralda walking past the candles is forever burned into my memory. Plus, I really like the juxtaposition of Esmarelda's pure, selfless prayer against the more petty wishes of the wealthy churchgoers.

This song was very good as well.
I know it's nitpicking but the layout of that movie's city has always bugged me immensely. The Notre Dame cathedral is on an island in the middle of a river. I just could not get over that as a kid, it bothered me like crazy.

Well, guess what, it actually is like that in real life, on an island in the middle of a river. I've actually been there, it really is positioned like that. Here's a map to prove it:

I always thought they were okay at the start, but then Disney fucked me over when they were real, and not just part of Quasimodo's imagination.

I've never actually listened to this song any time I've actually watched this film, I always fastforwarded over it. Maybe next time I won't skip it.
All I remember from this is one part that annoyed me so much as a kid. Some character lifted a tile and put it back the wrong way. So annoying!
it feels weird everytime i watch it in english....i blame that i grow up with the arabic dub

dat awesome egyptian accent
Disney should have just said "fuck all of you" and went all out with this movie by making it accurate to the book.
They already have all of these awesome songs, so why stop there?
The original book was about how the catholic church abused it's power during that time, not an ugly duckling story.

I wonder how people would have reacted to Ariel dying in the Disney version of the Little Mermaid if they had went 'all-out' and followed the book.

Or Sleeping Beauty waking up to find she'd been raped by the prince in her slumber then eat her twin babies.
"I should've known you risked your life just saving that gypsy witch!"
"And he shall smite the wicked and PLUNGE INTO THE THE FIERY PIT!"

Fairy tales are fucked up.

Ah, that's the part where Frollo is talking about the Gypsies to Phoebus and compares them to a bunch of ants under a tile by squashing them underneath it. I clearly remember that he puts the tile back on upside down.
assassins creed 4 confirmed for quasi moto

I mean it isn't in the movie. Watch the scene again. Do it, does that look like an island to you?
I mean it isn't in the movie. Watch the scene again. Do it, does that look like an island to you?
Yeah, it does. The map is more representational rather then a 1:1 scale map.
Here's the scene. Forgive the wierd fandubbing, it's the only clip of the scene I could find.

Maybe I should rephrase it then, the scale is fuuuuuuuucked. I have also been to Paris on multiple occasions, the island is fucking TIIIIIIINY, and there's no room for all those other buildings on it.
