Jesus I never realized just how much of Biggs' character got cut from the original film, he pretty much was reduced to "just another pilot who got shot down in the end".
Wow I didn't know so much existed I hadn't seen before.
I can see why people say Star Wars was saved in editing. Some of these scenes are way too long for what they add, and it's usually not much. Although it's interesting to see them seperately, it probably wouldn't have worked as well if they were integrated into the movie.
wait [sp]luke and leigh kissed in jedi?[/sp]
This video is pretty interesting too. It shows all the cool stuff that Boba has on his suit but never actually used in the movies.
I've always wanted to see these. Oh man [editline]17th August 2015[/editline] i kinda wish all the biggs stuff made it in the final cut tbh
I couldn't help but chuckle a bit from the final deleted scene for the first video.
i like how the scene with biggs talks a big games about commies basically, lol. whines about the empire nationalizing commerce etc, building off of the cold war for sure however that scene also interestingly mentions how the empire drafts people, which i don't think is really touched upon in the main series afaik? makes the whole idea of shooting countless stormtroopers a bit more morally ambiguous then doesn't it
I like the idea that random people from all over the galaxy are getting drafted into the Empire instead of "lol clones"
That's the way it's always been. It's the matter not being brought up in the films themselves that make people assume stormtroopers = clones.
I don't even know why people assume they were clones, I grew up on the OT and never thought that as far as I can remember.
I like the idea of random people from all over the galaxy getting drafted or willingly signing up for the Empire instead of "lol clones"
wasn't talking about clones, i presumed it was a volunteer force, not a draft [editline]18th August 2015[/editline] bringing it to the forefront that it's conscription has a wildly different implication than the rebels simply fighting willful stormtroopers
The empire's military was never mentioned to be clones in the original trilogy. In Battlefront 2 (may have been mentioned in other EU media before, not sure), it was revealed that the empire still used clone troopers as their only military force until large waves of insubordination happened and they started to both allow non-clones to join the ranks and "downgraded" the clones to be far shittier and more random, as having an army of identical killing machines proved to be a really hard to maintain as they're far too likely to follow mass mutinies.
Would love me some of Aunt Beru's blue milk
i wish we'd seen this Boba in the films. he could've made a great secondary villain in Empire, instead of Vader stealing the whole show and Boba being a flat supporting character who barely did anything.
Didn't clones age at twice the rate of normal humans, and as time went on their gene seed degenerated as well? The first-generation clones, if any were remaining, would be pushing their mid-50s physically by the beginning of A New Hope. The clones had been pre-produced in their billions by the Kaminoans to be sent off to battle, but the Empire had thousands if not millions of worlds to control. Conscripting non-clones, at the very least, would have been necessary, even if the Emperor would have preferred to continue using the remaining clones.
The only good thing about the clones is that in episode 2, when Jango Fett leaves Kamino, he bumps his head on the Slave 1's door, which is why that one storm trooper bumps his head in episode 4 - its genetic.
Pretty sure he doesn't actually make contact.
Would love me some of Aunt Beru's blue milk
gets you ready for a bit of the old "ultra violence" [editline]18th August 2015[/editline]
The empire's military was never mentioned to be clones in the original trilogy. There is a theory that the stormtroopers only aim 'terribly' at Skywalker and co because Vader/ the Emperor want to get close to him. It's clear that the Galactic Empire has a relatively competent military, or else they wouldn't have survived almost 20 years against billions of rebels. We only really see the stormtroopers aiming poorly in the films whenever they're attacking the main characters, and since Darth Vader can clearly detect Luke and Obi Wan's presence as soon as they arrive, it's not shocking.
I felt like their was a lot of man love going on in the scene outside the cantina before biggs mentioned the academy :v:
I felt like their was a lot of man love going on in the scene outside the cantina before biggs mentioned the academy :v:
He was audibly touching Luke on the butte
Whats the lives of a few grunts to find a major base of the Rebellion?
They may have been ordered to miss, but I'm sure the lives of the grunts matter to the grunts themselves.

The Biggs scene on Tatooine might be canon now. It was referenced in the Ultimate Star Wars reference book, and it also referenced in the Star Wars Databank on starwars.com Also IIRC, the scene with Luke meetings Biggs on Yavin was originally cut, but was added back in with one the special editions?
Vader used ~the Force~
They're dead either way, suppose they saw the heroes and just ran away pretending they didn't.
They're dead either way, suppose they saw the heroes and just ran away pretending they didn't.
It seems like a laser blast to the face kills you instantly, so it's probably better to have it over and done with rather than being painfully choked to death by Vader.
