There is a ton of great aspects of this mod, but one of the most outstanding is the way shootouts feel. Being pinned down while trying to pick up what your squad leader shouts over the gunfire is simply amazing and unlike any other game.
You need the base game in order to play this mod, right?

That camo looked pretty similar to CADPAT as well. I would have assumed it was a Canadian soldier if not for the flag patch.
Their torrent is being real hit and miss, sometimes I'm getting 5 MB/s but then it drops to 20 kB/s.
Guess a lot of people downloading it.

Yeah requires BF2 (steam or CD)
Totally worth it if you like squad based fps action. With 50 vs 50 players now you will definitely see more action then when it was 32 vs 32.

Its squad based (8 people) 9 squads total, you pretty much join a squad, listen to the squad leader and kill the enemy. Its not clunky like ArmA and alot more forgiving on older computers.

I love all of the new particle effects they've introduced in 1.0 and onward, really wish other mods were able to use them.

as much as I love this mod though, sometimes when playing solo, I dislike playing on servers with stacked teams because then I feel it becomes a lopsided game and it basically becomes a dick around for the losing team with majority for them not willing to cooperate because their morale is basically shattered against the team of elite server admin/members, so then they're just running off solo with whatever kits and waiting 'till the round ends

As much as I love the color scheme to the C7(Literally it's an M16) I hate the C79 ELCAN sight, of all the sights in the world for PR to use, they use maybe one of the worst ones for a western faction, even a standard ACOG would be better IMO.

It's because that's what Canada actually uses and PR is trying to be realistic. For the Dutch troops they should have used Aimpoints and their new C7 model though

Really? For me it's the opposite; I think the C79 ELCAN sight is the clearest and easiest sight to use amongst all the factions in PR.
How many Australians still play this? Worth committing a day to install this to find out no one plays it online?

The big servers are usually in the US and Europe, but a lot of people play with high ping anyway. It's very doable.

Heh, seems like I'll be buying the game today then.
Frogotten Hope 2 and Project Reality, two mods that made BF2 alive to this day. I still remember how a lot of fun I had in PR. Like once, we were defending hill in forest for about one and half hour only to hear from our commander "guys, sorry, wrong order. I meant other hill!".
PR never gets old for me.
I took part in a really intense round on Hades Peak today as the Dutch forces, it involved a firefight where we holed up in the Old Monastery and tried to fight off the Russians from all sides. We lost in the end and it also seemed like a crushing defeat at first due to how aggressive the russians were being but it turned out that they only had 22 tickets left.
Close matches are always the best in PR.
