I like the disturbing shorts on this channel . Shame there's not many others as good as this on other channels.

Personally I think this one is the best, because it doesn't rely on straight up fear but a feeling of unease that humanity would actually do something that sinister.
These are so good. They made me read some scp-wiki earlier.

And we all know of the desperate Banzai infantry attacks. So, humanity did something that sinister.
These are edited awesomely, dag.
Well the Japanese civilians pretty much did that whenever an island was taken by the US. And we all know of the desperate Banzai infantry attacks. So, humanity did something that sinister.
Yeah but it's not like we're openly talking about the Japanese suicides and suicide attacks, even when we do we do it with a respectful tone, not randomly blurting it out. That's why I said unease, not fear or dismay.
Honestly the suicide thing would make much more sense if it were in the context of late WWII Japan, mass suicide is just a cultural mismatch for the US.
I agree. I understand Americans are very stubborn and not easily subdued as other nations, but we would never resort to mass suicide because we lost a war :v:. Most likely whatever war this is would turn into American Patriots getting guns, food, and gear, going into the woods, and starting a guerrilla war with the occupying enemy army.
Honestly the suicide thing would make much more sense if it were in the context of late WWII Japan, mass suicide is just a cultural mismatch for the US.
I guess that's kind of part of it. You know it's not real, but there's some part of you the believes that the American government would do it and that some would follow through with it.
Honestly the suicide thing would make much more sense if it were in the context of late WWII Japan, mass suicide is just a cultural mismatch for the US.
I figure that's the really haunting bit. It doesn't make any sense for the government to put out a broadcast like that, yet they do. Why? It even mentions the police 'enforcing' it, them accounting for the obvious American reaction.

When I first watched I thought that the gimmick behind the Local 58 meant that this was some kind of weird scp-esque transmission from some nightmare-inducing alternative universe where the us is north korea, but then the thing with the "hoax" card kinda made it lose that vibe so it lost a lot from me
I don't know why, but this will always be one of the most unsettling shorts for me. Makes you feel uncomfortable from beginning to end, even before it you know why its making you uncomfortable.
For me, it's more uncomfortable because it indicates something far worse than total war, or even nuclear war. Because of the cultural mismatch with the US, the message seems to be: Killing yourself is preferable to what's about to come.
His latest one tho
The low quality video really makes this video. Every thing starts to look like something when the driver arrives at the forest
I looked at the moon and now my dick is gone someone call an emergency health service

In Penumbra: Black Plague there's a terminal where you can run an orientation video for new arrivals to the Shelter. It's got a very Aperture science vibe and basically tells you that if you experience any form of sickness, avoid speaking to the doctor and shackle and secure yourself to the nearest solid object after initiating a lockdown in your room and await to be retrieved. If you are not retrieved within a period of time and feel yourself getting worse, the nice lady narrating it then says to take your emergency cyanide capsule. There's another thing like this in Dead Space 3. There's a film reel stuck on a loop that goes on and on about how everyone must "do the needful" for the colonies and that failure to comply will result in execution by your superiors. Shit like that is just really eerie. Edit Had a video of the Penumbra one on my channel. This shit is so unsettling.
