-snip- OH didn't see the other bits. Well that's actually a pretty cool idea.
Fingerprints?
I just want my fucking coke, I don't want to book a holiday, Jesus Christ.
i hope this doesn't replace traditional vending machines. at least in the western world. it seems like something that would be in a scifi movie: humans use vending machines with displays like the one in the video, and they end up getting plastered with ads.
I just want my fucking coke, I don't want to book a holiday, Jesus Christ.
it does seem kind of useless actually, i'd rather have a solid evacuation plan that will not break if the electricity goes fuck. cool, but i'd rather have a coke!
The Public Safety Mode sounds amazing. Reminds me of Halo ODST with the City AI that guides you through electronic street signs and such. For example, in Japan where this is being marketed there could be a Tsunami and the vending machine would alert people in the general area about it and information as to where to go and what to do and so on. I read about how someone bought a HUGE gumball machine and how in a month he'd made several thousand dollars from all the people who were like "Wow, that's a big gum ball machine! I want to use it, to see what it's like to watch a gumball roll down a 4 foot long chute." Same applies to vending machines that do more than just dispense drinks. Vending machines that sell unique things or present them in a unique way make much more revenue than regular ones. It's the novelty of the thing that turns a profit.
Yeah but this is in japan. Where people aren't douchebags. When this comes to other countries. Its just gonna get vandalized... and HD touchscreens ain't cheap.
Looks expensive. Definitely won't happen in England. Some cunt would break it within minutes.
They will be plastered with ads
Future looks pretty cool as long as you avoid thinking about everything else like starvation, poverty and corruption.
Although it'd kind of too advanced for a simple thing like a vending machine, I still love when futuristic technology like this comes out.
A vending machine is a more powerful computer than my desktop. A FUCKING. VENDING MACHINE.
This reminds me of the time people hacked road signs to make them warn about zombies ahead.
Swiping through all your drink options one by one looks fucking annoying.
Hahaha it uses an i5. Jesus fuck what a waste, at most it needs a dual core atom.
Pretty sure the swiping shows information on the drink, like calories, it seems you still buy using the mechanical button
That fucking vending machine has a better CPU than my gaming rig.

Seems completely useless for actual use and imagine how greasy and dirty the glass would get.
Suddenly, vandalism.
Transparent displays are fucking awesome.
I think it is cool, i mean I'm going to get a soda anyway, so why not get it in a entertaining fashion. It may take a few seconds longer but at least I get some entertainment out of it. It's stuff like this that paves way for other stuff. Like a mirror that has the same features, you wake up and it can sense when someone enters the room and it turns on whatever mode you have it set. Like for weather and news, etc.
Lets just hope they don't make shit like this have ~3D selection, effects, and more!!!~ People without steroscopic vision, like me, would be fucked
You will be allowed to order your drink after this 3 minute ad.
You will be allowed to order your drink after this 3 minute ad.
Imagine if it worked where if you watched the advert fully you got a free drink, or you could pay.

Why does it have those traditional buttons at the side, seems like a bit of a mix up
Needs colour.
The black looks a bit hard to read. also a red colour for the emergency signals would be cool
