I always loved that Comedy Central is a less biased news source than most news networks.

if you fail to see stewart/colbert's rather left wing bias you're as bad as the people that think fox news is fair and balanced
they aren't socialists or communists, like radical / extreme left wing. but they are very very left

They are very very left compared to the "American Center". But are biased, just like everything ever.

I love them, and the shows, but no, they are left wing biased. Not extreme. It mostly comes from the joking and the people they make fun of.
reality tends to be biased against certain ideas and a lot of those ideas are right-wing

I never said CC wasn't biased, I just said they were less biased.
The Daily Show and Colbert Report are by far more biased they just don't also purport to be an unbiased news source
everyone else just does it for them for hyperbole but they get so wrapped up in it they sometimes start to actually believe it.
The biggest criticism that can be leveled against Fox isn't that they're biased, but that they deny it whilst parading around like a legitimate news source. To my knowledge neither Stewart nor Colbert have ever deliberately lied or obscured facts to put their "spin" on things, they just give a perspective.
I never said CC wasn't biased, I just said they were less biased.
they are just as biased. they're just on the other side of the fence as fox
I never said CC wasn't biased, I just said they were less biased.
I think you're just explaining your opinion wrong.
the fact is that a comedic satirical news show is a better news source than fox or cnn or insert actual news source
they are just as biased. they're just on the other side of the fence as fox
if they were just as biased as fox 90% of this video would have been fabricated to make the audience angry
I understand everybody wants to complain about which stations don't cater to their views, but this whole thing is a callout on how a lot of newscasters who are whining about the situation having a 'manufactured' racial charge to it.
If you're complaining about bias in it, I want examples of what it is in this video outside of the fact he's calling out (the usual) obnoxious conservative personalities, who are obviously the ones who'd be riling up these conversations

You mean me? I am left leaning and like Colber/Stewart, its just I'm not a drone that thinks that because they have similar views to me that means the three of us have no bias!
I could post my 104 page essay on why this video is particular video is pretty bad, but I'd get flamed and start a shit storm. I don't want to start one or join one.
But I'd like you to do me a favor, Dai: next time someone in SH posts some article from some right wing site (ie Fox, Daily Mail) it should be your job to tell anyone saying "ugh [new source]" or "can we stop posting X?" to "point out actual bias" within the specific article despite the whole publication being known for their right leaning articles. I don't think I've seen a mod do that here. For instance there's this thread that has people bitching about the Daily Mail. Sure the head line is click bait but what is wrong with the article itself? "People with heart conditions shouldn't do things that could exasperate them."

not to mention that no one in this thread was previously talking about bias in this video, just as a whole...

I wouldn't say I'm complaining since it's two of my favorite shows but w/e
Man, I fucking love it when Jon goes in like this.

Left-wing bias isn't the right word for that. Progressives, yes. Left-wing? No. They do have a progressive bias and anyone in denial about that is indeed wearing blinders.

When it's with sources like DM it's because they tend to be pretty unreliable in the facts. Like RT, the truth of what they say or the facts they present are generally cherry-picked or completely wrong. This is somewhat common throughout the entirety of media today, but some sources are worse than others.
powerful closing statement there. jon stewart is the man
I've always found that while Jon Stewart isn't that funny he does do the actual news parts well.

my point was stop derailing with the same generic shit about source biases if you're not talking about the thread video

Just clarifying here but generally American politics is flattened down onto a 1 dimensional line, aka Left-Right politics. Quote from wikipedia
There is general agreement that the Left includes: progressives,
