I always get into arguments about this, but I really liked the 2 other movies. They went way more in-depth about the matrix. The 2nd one had really good philosophical discussions, especially with that french guy or whatever. And that car chase.... 3rd one had the really cool final fight with the humans and machines and the crazy machine city with great art direction.

Of course the first is the best, but the other 2 were awesome movies on their own as well.

also this is of my top favorite scenes in any movie ever.

The Animatrix was amazing as well, especially the New Renaissance one or whatever.
