It's a pretty solid track, don't wanna seem contrarian or anything, I like it, I'm just not crazy about it. There's too much low-end. Reminds me of some Shlohmo on Vacation EP. It's a pretty decent track though. The DIY aspect always comes through in his beats, which is a good thing most of the time. My favourite personally is;

Honestly, if YouTube breaks down I believe George could do alright as a Musician if he got his hands on a good manager. It's a very fortunate situation when you're already an established name, it saves a lot of time when you're trying to break into the industry. He knows his way around a decent instrumental so there's always room for him to grow further.
so what exactly is 88rising? I know that its become the youtube home for Joji's stuff but is it some larger channel thats just a variety of stuff with the money and means to create videos with good production quality?
They're a "media company" that also half play record label

Isn't that Album already out (albeit on the short side in terms of the amount of songs)? Or, do you mean he had more songs intended for release?

I thought the vocals didn't cut through the mix very well, and like someone else said the lows were a little heavy feeling and muddy. But this stuff is fairly subjective, it's not like it was unlistenable

yeah subjective is definitely the key word here
the parts of the mix you describe as flaws are actually things i really like about it
[QUOTE=God of Ashes;52172857]prolly still my favorite joji track

there's legitimately like 4 different songs that use the same sample as this and they're all really good

I think the composition is beautiful, but a very simple bit of balancing could shape it up a bit better potentially. The technical aspects of sound mixing are best relegated to engineers, because that shit is complex as hell. It's a science in its own right.
Daughter is a p good band too
