Ahh, finally! I’ve been following this stuff for ages now.
my favorite part and all my fond memories about growing up with the oddworld franchise was the cool unique ambient music so idk what i think about that trailer music...
Im cautious about the crafting/follower element, but ill hold back until i see some gameplay. But that artwork is amazing.

Honestly I didn't actually mind the music, it doesn't fit as much as it could of course, but it sounds odd enough I think.
I thought this was going to be something related to the early development of Oddysee, what with how Oddysee was called Soulstorm early on.
Since we're now getting a post Rupture Farms Molluck, I wonder if they'll follow the original idea of having him get judged by the Glukkon Queen, Lady Margaret.Would be nice to finally see her in a game, especially with how they're better individualising glukkons this time.
So I was kinda right when I guessed it'd be a remake of abe's exodus. Didn't expect them to redo the gameplay entirely though. I'm pretty hyped for this.

I really don't know how to feel about the new Glukkon designs. They look a bit to human now with their smaller eyes and actual detailing in the eyes as opposed to the glowing single colored eyes. They clash so hard with how Abe and the other Mudokon look.
Grew up playing oddworld on the ps1, and exoddus was such a fucking fantastic game. Gotta be honest though i really don't like what i've seen so far, it almost looks like they're abandoning the oddworld style for this more realistic look? Mullock looks ok but the others look really bad. And chaning the story, completely revamping the gameplay? what the fuck? Why can't they just remake it like they did with Oddysee? Seems like they are throwing out the dark comedy for this grimdark reboot bullshit like it's a DC movie or something. Maybe i'm just too much of a fan of the original, exoddus was my favorite after all, but i'm just really not digging it.
To be fair, he’s insisted that it won’t be a remake like New 'n' Tasty, but more like his original concept for Exoddus.
To be fair, he’s insisted that it won’t be a remake like New 'n' Tasty, but more like his original concept for Exoddus.
In an interview from last year Lorne said the level of fidelity will be higher than with New 'n' Tasty, and we can expect to see old locations/puzzles appearing as we remember them. I love Exoddus and Oddworld in general, so on the one hand it bothers me that the old characters and designs are being done away with, they're iconic. On the other, they're the result of tech constraints and Exoddus was rushed due to a demanding publisher. If Lorne wants to aim for the original vision I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. We haven't seen much past concept material and the deeper characterisation he's aiming for might pay off. Stranger's Wrath was also a huge leap sideways for Oddworld but it turned out great.
