Good lord both sides are bringing up terrible arguments in this video.
I don't know, I'm 35 minutes in and all I've heard is bullshit from the pro gun guy. edit: he's also half retarded and racist
there's no way this guy isn't stealing valor or something holy shit "Drugs are bad! I went to afghanistan and got fucked up, I was about to kill myself and it definitely was the SSRIs the VA hospital gave me and not the PTSD I picked up! Anecdotes will prove my point!" I don't particularly like Destiny but at least he doesn't sound like that one guy who'll argue with you on twitter or reddit until you disengage and claim victory.
I kind of skimmed around a bit but off the top of my head there’s a bunch of things like: The pro gun side making stupid generalizations such as “an armed society is a polite society” which is completely unsubstantiated by facts. The gun control side complaining about lack of newer CDC studies on guns while completely ignoring the whole reason the CDC is no longer trusted to do them was due to them being caught forming a politically biased conclusion and THEN trying to cherry pick research to fit the conclusion. (It’s also speculated that a more impartial study took place during the Obama administration but got shelved due to the conclusion not fitting a narrative, but that should be taken with several grains of salt) Pro gun side basically making shit up “there’s no one protesting on the streets (in response to shootings)” which pretty much anyone knows is false. When arguing if anything should have prevented the last shooting, both of them missed the fact that he was reported to the FBI AND the FBI flat out admitted they didn’t follow protocol which could have prevented the whole thing. Gun control side failing to see the point that banning certain weapons will just cause people to use other means like IEDs or non-restricted weapons or just procure illegal weapons. Pro gun side’s blatant racism. Stop making us look bad holy shit. More racism. Oh my God STOP TALKING. The spirit of Jack Thompson momentarily possesses pro gun guy. (Vidya Games!) Gun control side is arguing by flat numbers of people killed instead of per capita when comparing USA to Europe. Etc... But going back I see the gun control person was staring to get at some better suggestions of creating profiles of mass shooters and having to make the background checks catch those potential risks more reliably. Also adding some more misdemeanors to the list of offenses probably wouldn’t hurt either as long as if it’s not for something non-violent or mundane as a speeding ticket. And then shortly after the entire thing becomes an incomprehensible shitfest about the deep state where I can’t tell who’s arguing what anymore. :v:

It can be partially attenuated by beta blockers, but when people are at their lowest, this can be a catalyst towards suicide.
