Fucking Zeus.
Whoah.
Look at the fucking timer How fast this monster is ! And people survive such hits
I'm mad at lighting right now It killed two of my TVs and satellite receivers the day before yesterday
I thought it arced at the speed of light...
Whoah.
i dont know why but that video was kinda scary
So, basically during the first flash it carves out a path in the sky and once it connects to the ground the electricity gets discharged following the same exact path. Damn, that is cool. I knew I shoulda paid attention in class.
Lightning pun.

That was pretty cool
I farted as the lightning hit the ground which almost added a sound effect to it.
Whoah.
Take me to your [sp]positive[/sp] leaders.
if we could see the rain as well, we'd probably see drops floating in the sky
Terrifying.
if we could see the rain as well, we'd probably see drops floating in the sky
Not really, but it would fall fairly slowly.
if we could see the rain as well, we'd probably see drops floating in the sky
If you mean the rain drops, I doubt it. The rain is moving like a snail a mile away in comparison to the lightning.
well yeah, but that's almost floating. Certainly not freezing in mid-air at least

Damn, that is cool. A lightning strike occurs when the difference in charge between the clouds and the ground reaches a certain level, and the lightning strike is how it equalises the potential energy between the two. It's pretty fucking awesome, but in some instances it looks even crazier above the clouds; Red Sprite: Blue Jet:
I've actually seen a red sprite with my own two eyes. At the time i had no idea what it was. I was on a flight to San Diego, California and i saw it while watching a thunderstorm.
Illuminating
I read somewhere the electricity in lightning actually travels up from the Earth. But every video I see has the electricity moving down?

It looks like a big blood red jellyfish straight from lovecraftian shit.
