It's kinda obvious the people in the house knows his identity and thus that was p much his only option.

And he was silent, he never had to take on more than two guards at once so he obviously didn't alert more than one guard at a time. To be honest, if melee combat is like this in the final game (using environment etc) I will be really happy.
