My response to no more video responses. GOD WHAT HAS YOUTUBE BECOME??????

I don't remember clicking on a video response ever in my life on Youtube since 2006
I'm more annoyed with how they shoved the video quality/size settings into that gear.

This video was way too slow and the text didn't fit the music at all and why did you throw in a minute and a half of a slow pan down to a crying heavy?
And why the distorted picture of Taylor Swift? This video is straight out of 2008

I'm more annoyed at how they change the god-awful layout every second.

I agree with that, I haven't really checked YouTube in a few days and was wondering wtf happened.
Although, I think the lack of video responses will piss off a shit-ton of people, not to mention impact people's collaborations negatively. Maybe by view % on the videos they meant the people who were watching the main video didn't click on the video responses, seems unlikely that whoever got a response to their video would ignore them THAT MUCH.
So, they're doing away with video responses in favor of clickable video references in comments? I don't see a problem here.
People already reference videos in the form of video IDs, so there's not much to lose here.

Collaborators on Youtube usually link to related videos in the video descriptions anyway.

I think it might cause more spam though, if you think about it. Like those bots with the "watch this now for an iphone" sorta things. I mean, will it be all links or just youtube links?

True, but I always like clicking on the video responses link below the main video to see what other people have made, thus giving people views. Can't tell you how many people I've subbed to because of that.

Google knows how to make good filters. At first, there will be spam, but through research and data collected through comments marked as spam, their filters will pick it up and spam accounts will be acted upon.
Spam bots already link to their sites and videos anyway. All Youtube is doing is making video IDs clickable.
Instead of 0.0004% winging, pretty much 99% of people will complain now, as they've suddenly decided video responses formed a deep part of their life.

Granted they weren't the most important youtube feature, but they certainly helped you.
I got 400+ subscribers out of making cruddy Gmod videos. Most of those subscribers were received because I posted a video response to ARMaster's Scout is Delicious video.
Don't freaking tell me that such a small percentage views video responses.
Then again, this was a long time ago. When YouTube changed the layout, the video responses got a lot less noticeable, so of course, nobody would use them because they couldn't see them that easily.

THIS
I think the layout changes should NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. Like you said, you used to be able to see like 4 or 5 responses at the bottom of the description, then it suddenly went to like 2. YouTube went downhill fast after that haha.
Watch as the next update removes the Favorites feature.
In addition, annotations pretty much replaced video responses for the most part when it came to the owner posting responses to themselves, or collaborations.
If they're going to replace this with a better feature, I guess I won't complain too loudly. We'll see what happens.

Next thing you know they will get rid of playlists too. :tinfoil:

And then you have no choice but to use Google+

Oh yeah, I like how they force that up your ass every other day, and how they wanna make you change your whole fucking YouTube name to your first/last name. I think they will force me to do so quite soon, since the day after I click the damn x button it pops up AGAIN. This has been happening for MONTHS. God I'll just change it to make it stop. DAMN!
0.0004%?
hmm, i thought it would be lower.

Yes.
Did anyone even use video responses? I totally forgot that they existed.
(Also I forgot to mention that all of your videos are total fucking shit.)
Stop making threads to advertise your terrible videos
judging from your posts and username, gamerchick i'm going to presume that you are the typical SFM wannabe who makes stupid gags that were worn out in 2009 because you want to be some kind of super famous funny machinima maker. your animations are sloppy and you aren't funny. stop attention whoring your videos on facepunch because their shit and no one gives a fuck that you are a female.
just sayin' the truth.

Pretty much this. I understand it probably doesn't feel that great to read but its the truth.
I used Video Response to have a DL to the Keypunch Software games Lazy Game Reviews had made videos of. That's about it.

Actually, I put A LOT of hard work into my videos, this one took a few months, the only reason I joined this site was for help with SFM because I need to improve my skills with it. Maybe you guys could tell me what I need to improve on instead of just saying things/derailing an entire thread for the sake of being mean.

I only shared the video response thing because I thought it would help people, thought I'd put a little bit of humor in there but I guess Facepunch is useless for that.
Also, GamerChick has been my gaming tag for about 10 years.
Now, can we drop the whole thing please? I get verbally abused IRL by my parent (without end) every single day, so I tend to take insults personally.
