Holy shit. Please tell me this means a re-release/remake soon.
There is a Stargate also in the first minute of the video :D hehe
Holy shit, it's literally Timesplitters 2. I was expecting some sort of remake of the first level with the resources of Homefront. Not a direct port of the original game.
How the hell did they manage to green light this? Isnt the IP still owned by EA?

crytek holds the rights to it, they have confirmed they are not working on a new timesplitters many times.
for several reasons, future perfect did not perform well in sales (convincing a publisher to pick it up will be impossible), they doubt fans of the series will accept it, they want to work on different projects before thinking about going back to timesplitters and the main problem is that they don't know how big the fan community is for it, a recent petition reached over 100,000 signatures but 100,000 is a shitty sales target for a triple A game.
considering how out of the blue this is i'm guessing this is a way to probe the community for interest.
I need more time splitters in my life, i think everyone does.
Man, Timesplittters had some damn good music:

Jesus fuck, two entire playable campaign levels with all their difficulties intact. Not sure what to think of the weird sound reverb, but it's definitely a modified emulation rather than a recreation. I wonder who on the team put in the effort for this?
I miss also Future Perfect ^^

My personal favorite song in TS:FP hands down

I sure hope this means Crytek will get the lead out of their ass and help out the Rewind crew.
Anyone think Homefront will be good?
Anyone think Homefront will be good?
no.
reviews are already out, the consensus is that the game is bad.
Holy shit. Please tell me this means a re-release/remake soon.
All it means is the developers would be much rather making that than Homefront.
But the publishers hardly care.

Not bad not good, extremely mediocre

The blue screen that flashes up as the game switches to Timesplitters 2 has a "ported with love" credits list at the bottom.
Its sad that most people are more excited about this Easter egg then the actual game, kinda like CoD:Infinite Warfware and the CoD 4 remaster

I've asked a few times but i wonder how many of the original dev team are still in the industry/still in Crytek?
If anyone is going to pull a one up on Doom's Snapmap, it would be Timesplitters.

the thing i like about the series is its gun sounds, they're amazing
Give me a PC port of TS2 right fucking now.
That's incredible!
Now I'm sad we never got that ts4.

I like emulating my copy of TS2 on PCSX2, it's not bad but it does have some issues. Unfortunately Future Perfect is a mess on PCSX2, whether it's due to peformance or graphics issues, or the screen static that's nigh unremoveable. The alternative option is emulating them on Dolphin which is both smoother and more accurate, but then you've got Gamecube controls fucking with your reflex if you grew up on the PS2 versions like I did.
learning that the GC version of Future Perfect looked slightly better effects-wise blew my mind earlier this year, even if it's a really minor difference at best

HD remake please
Online multiplayer TS would be amazing. Wish Crytek wanted to do something with the IP.
I would welcome a port/remake mostly because of the way the right stick controls the camera/crosshairs.

Something about the Goldeneye / Perfect Dark style of loose aiming combined with being able to hold down an aim button for more precision is just some really cool nostalgia. Although i'll fully admit that after a while I stuck to the more standard setup in Future Perfect.

Timesplitters 2 is the only console FPS which has satisfying controls to me. It's a really good combination of reactivity and precision that suits the arcade style of the game, and actually feels good. By comparison whenever I play a modern console FPS I just end up thinking about the fact it would be leagues ahead on PC in terms of controls.
i want timesplitters back in my life. im getting tired of the same old oversaturated 'safe' games were getting. the same old IPs with the same old formulas. timesplitters would be a breath of fresh air.
