Been waiting so long for this given the trailer they released just over a year ago. Will definitely spring some new lift into Arma 3, the mods associated, and for the FPArma crew. I chose NSFW because of the violence.
I chose NSFW because of the violence.
i busted a nut before i even read that
I almost expected a Battlefield 2-style zoom out when the other panels began to appear coupled with the "Requesting immediate.." over the radio.
The new island looks great for RP servers. There are multiple smaller islands, 4-5 airports and some nice city-esque areas. Would be nice to have RP with a bit more of a focus on fishing etc (or illegally capturing whales and airdropping them in suitcases from a helicopter a la Chernaraus Life)
The map is great, the guns are great, the vehicles are fucking amazing. Worth the £20 i spent

You're forced now to either play on near dead public servers or dedicate yourself to finding the most tacticool groups just to play the game
Rp servers killed Arma.
Rp servers killed Arma. You're forced now to either play on near dead public servers or dedicate yourself to finding the most tacticool groups just to play the game
or just settle for fparma like the rest of us
or just settle for fparma like the rest of us
I would love to join fparma, but my timezone means I miss a lot of the games :(
Rp servers killed Arma. You're forced now to either play on near dead public servers or dedicate yourself to finding the most tacticool groups just to play the game
The first ARMA title I played was Operation Flashpoint on LAN. When I say RP servers I'm talking about RP servers from ARMA--as in ARMA 1. If ARMA 1 featured RP servers and ARMA 2 featured RP servers and ARMA 2: OA featured RP servers and ARMA 3 featured RP servers and ARMA 3: APEX will feature RP servers Then it is fair to say that RP has not killed ARMA. Why exactly you'd want to play such a game on public servers is beyond me because you're most likely just going to find idiots who ruin shit or try a bit to hard to play as staff sergeants. TL;DR: "someone is playing a sandbox game in a way I don't like"
Honestly, that trailer didn't really impress. I get that Bohemia has never been one for animation and cutscenes and all, but something about the limp falling over and that one guy behind a vehicle weightlessly waving an AK as it just has muzzleflashes appear with no recoil seemed... really off.
or just settle for fparma like the rest of us
Wish I could but my schedule always interferes :c
So has this been optimized at all? Or does it still run like poopoo

Has anyone tried the 1-4 coop missions yet? Looking for a good coop game to play with some online friends and it seems like it might be fun
Has anyone tried the 1-4 coop missions yet? Literally everything you said there was wrong. Except maybe the Sniper rifles.
Yet another expense to pay in a Bohemia game. I swear Bohemia is the Mr.Krabs of AAA games. Never fail to suck money out of you. 35 bucks for something you could get free with mods is absolutely ridiculous. Servers are starting to turn into pay to win because everyone with the DLC gets way better vehicles and weapons.
You're forgetting the most important and defining additions to A3 have been free. 3D Editor = Free Firing From Vehicles = Free Advanced Flight Model = Free You literally pay for the content of the map, campaign, vehicles and weapons nothing else whilst any other company could've easily slid this behind a paywall.

If you play without mods, Apex basically doubles the content available to you. Show me one other game where the amount of content is the base game is doubled after $35 worth of DLCs.
Rp servers killed Arma. You're forced now to either play on near dead public servers or dedicate yourself to finding the most tacticool groups just to play the game
saying RP killed arma 3 is as dumb as saying DayZ killed Arma 2
May I ask what you're playing? Because I don't think it's Bohemia's fault if a game mode is unbalanced. Plus the CSAT VTOL is way more effective than the blackfish.
I'm fine with them offering the expansion pack and DLC but they should not be integrating it with normal servers.
It's either that or segregate the playerbase completely.
I'm fine with them offering the expansion pack and DLC but they should not be integrating it with normal servers. It is unfair when the Apex users get to use a vehicle that is Apex only and it's cheaper than the normal alternative. I had a great example today on a server where a Apex users were able to use the VTOL blackfish and the non Apex Users were not able to use the blackfish causing a huge advantage on the other side with the Apex pack. DLC users are able to use a wide variety of snipers while the non DLC users are stuck with basics. It has affected my experience in the game.
Why even complain, you get the most important features from each update for free. This is like complaining about the map packs of Call of Duty

Not as in "oh this is fun and it has simulation qualities" as in Bohemia actually sells simulators to governments (https://bisimulations.com/). There is no "similar title". ArmA is ArmA. Bohemia could charge double for just the base game and people would still buy it. As it is people already have put up with a game that has been horribly optimized over the past several titles.

Regardless it still isn't an AAA game.
Did someone forget to turn the shadows on?
