GMOD 2009 - it feels like a lifetime ago I was playing this every day - General

Was just going back through my youtube, reminiscing of on the past. Came across this and laughed to myself while very quickly realising how bad I felt for being such a dick. The only thing between him and his fate was the determination to no disconnect.

What a great game it used to be.

I remember playing around and being able to download sweps in-game. One minute you are building a fort, next minute you are killing combine with a drilldo. Why can't we get addons in-game anymore, anyways?

God I miss the days when I played GMOD. I reinstall it every once in a while just to get back into the groove of building random stuff and screwing around with explosives but it never feels the same and I uninstall it the same night.

I tried to join a simple build server and it was an awful time.

2009 was a fun time for gmod; Noxious Teamplay, Darkland Fortwars, Perp, Gmod Racer. I haven't played in along time, but it seems like original content isn't being developed anymore.

Being a kid was fun but now the majority of the "good" people back then are all older and doing grown up things now. One of my friends I used to play with on PERP is a cop in real life now. I haven't played gmod in like 3 years and don't even really want to anymore. I have my fun memories of it and that's good enough for me. don't wanna ruin it by going and trying to recreate fun times because nothing will really live up to them, ya know

I'm 22 and recently got back into Zombie survival, that hasn't changed much, its fun with the lads and a few beers

I think most of my hours went into TTT and deathrun in the early days.

I met my best friends on Gmod about 10 years ago. They're still my best friends.

I miss good TTT servers. How come there hasn't been an actual good attempt at making a cheap TTT-like with mod support? Hell, even keep it on Source if you want.

I joined up on this forum nearly 12 years ago to post my (shitty) poses. I don't remember the last time I even launched gmod
