A lot of overzealous vigilantes have their "hearts in the right place" but maybe they should just fuck off and leave their involvement to assisting actual authorities instead of trying to play hero.

This. You don't take the law into your own hands. I think this guy deserves some sort of legal action against him. It's not ok to jump out of vans in the night and run after people, then getting in their face and being aggressive. I and many others would run and if the guy catches up, fight for our life because that's when you have the best odds of survival. This guy endangered both his own and the other peoples lives because if they would react violently there is no telling what would happen.
