An absolutely aweome series of CGI action movies (based on Q3, no Q3 knowledge required) - General

The fan-made Quake 3 Arenas series by [url=http://www.youtube.com/user/DirectorGoss]DirectorGoss[/url] on youtube is one of the best independant CGI action series's I've ever seen. The action is awesome, the animation and rendering, voice acting, music, and sound effects are brilliant. The series incorporates weapons and characters from Quake 3 Arena and also provides a compelling story which I would recommend to anyone, Q3 fan or not. Angel has it right. This is really poorly done. Their attempts at sounding 'tough' are just pathetic.

I've watched the whole series and it's awesome. The running speed comment is ridiculous, it's obviously not supposed to be realistic but based on Q3 gameplay. I suppose it's alright compared to a common machinima, but I certainly wouldn't call it brilliant. The voice acting is unconvincing, there were a lot of low-quality stock sounds and frequently I heard the exact same sound effect multiple times in a row. There's very unrealistic things going on like running exaggeratedly fast, and casually dual wielding a rifle and a chainsaw. There's also some visual oddities like muzzleflashes that are way too dark, skin like it's been rubbed in baby oil and teeth that appear to be stuck together without any kind of texture whatsoever. Now all of this would be forgiveable if the story was good, but unfortunately this is not the case. We get thrown in with a bunch of men in armor whose major form of communication appears to be grunting, then everyone but the protagonist is killed, then he fights some monsters and he's captured by some guy, which only became apparent when he literally said he was captured, because the antagonist is dressed exactly the same and speaks exactly the same as the main character. Then the next episode begins and suddenly it's switched from the Doom setting to a Quake setting, without any segway whatsoever. Altogether I found it rather disappointing, especially after you claimed it was going to be incredible.

I like the original Doom music.

Doom guy did the whole of Doom 1 and the ending of 3, got the soul cube, then got rescued (though I will admit the cutaway didn't help to clarify things) and while rebelling against certain imminent experimentation and then about to be killed for the escape attempt, Aliens (I forgot their name) teleported him away. Aliens that look for unique, skilled individuals throughout time and space and put them into the Quake 3 Arena setting to fight each other. What was not to understand? :v:

I swear to god in the second video I heard the riff from Civil Protection (Ross Scott) more than a few times.

Ah man, this script is terrible, so is the voice acting. It's so corny it's painful.

I like it.

I don't like the vintage sound but other wise, it's pretty awesome.

"I had to take on hell because of you!" Voice acting is laughable but the CGI is pretty good during the fight scenes. :v:

Just finished Episode 10. God I fucking love this series. The music is amazing too.
