but I thought the onion was supposed to be satire
The first good thing to come from the Onion in a while
I was in a terrible dilemma trying to figure out whether or not the title belonged to the Onion or Clickhole before clicking on the thread. :v:

Clickhole is from The Onion

Yeah, I wasn't debating that. I honestly think Clickhole might even be better than the Onion proper at this point, it's just so good.

Just scanning the front page, they're cranking out just as much gold as they ever have, if not more.

It's satire. You're not supposed to take it seriously just because you agree with it.

I know that; most of Clickhole and Onion's recent stuff has been 'lol so random xD' humor

Not really. The entire point of Clickhole is a satire on clickbait websites and their predictably nonsensical titling that's often not fitting for the subject matter at hand. Prime example:

It uses the predictable titling of a list clickbait article, but it uses it as a shrewd way to talk about Republican's recent activity with trying to repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act, with a bit of an obvious stance that it's going to be bad if they do ("Will Have To Do Some Heavy Fucking Lifting" implies that the repeal would put the burden on the American people). It also implies the poor state of healthcare in the United States.
In none of this do they mention politics, Republicans, the current state of our healthcare system - none of that. It's an extremely intelligent way to satirize current events and, hell, even the article itself is well written:
1. Chamomile: Containing natural oils that relax the soft muscles of the stomach, chamomile is the perfect tea to calm an upset tummy. And because there’s no earthly way anyone going through chemo uninsured will be able to afford anti-nausea medication, too, it better start pulling its damn weight. Every Affordable Care Act provision that gets repealed is another burden on the shoulders of soothing chamomile.
2. Sage: It’s not just for cooking! Sage has been used for centuries as a tea to ease menstrual cramps, so if and when Congress decides regulating your period with birth control or an IUD should be prohibitively expensive, it’s going to have to step its shit up as a permanent pinch hitter for your Yaz. Can sage pull it off? Hell no. That said, since getting dropped by your insurance would mean having to choose between birth control and groceries, it’s slightly better than nothing.
ect...
I could dissect this just like I did with the title, but you already get my point. It's also fairly obvious. But you wouldn't know that, as you probably just breeze past the titles of the articles without giving much thought about it's "randumb whacky titles~," let alone read the articles.
