I'm getting a little sick of the celebrity "gamers'

Except this time it's not obnoxious at all? It seems like a really cool idea to get Star Trek actors in to show off a VR bridge commander game.
must be kind of cool for levar who was on a show where VR was a science fiction concept and now gets to see its first steps into being something actually quite real.
Even though these headsets aren't holodeck level of VR, it's still just kinda cool.

easy way to get paid actors except this time people will trust them

I can see how celebs getting into the gaming scene can get obnoxious. But this is one of the cases where it fits really well honestly, considering it's a VR game for Star Trek why the heck wouldn't there be some some sort of appearance by cast members?
I'm totally okay with celebs getting involved in the game scene if it's related to well known parts of their careers.

I'm fine with these guys since they all played a pretty big part in Star Trek's history.
Snoop Dogg playing Battlefield 1? Not so much.
This seems like Pulsar with star trek and VR, more or less, not that it's a bad thing.
This makes me want a game with more than just the VR gimmick with 4 people sitting at the helm.
Imagine a fully realised ship with a full crew compliment being able to explore and have their own quarters. It's not what AAA developers are looking to do, but the technology is there to do it.
I've played a game like this at a con once, its was pretty fun, didn't need VR for it.
There's currently a game called Artemis which is very close/looks more complex than what is in this video, being worked on by one man for the last few years. Might be what you played.
That starship at the start is weird, its all blocky and looks like shit on the star drive, but then when it moves up the saucer it has good fidelity.
Hopefully just an unfinished asset

I don't think it's being updated at all though, I remember playing it and it was pretty cool but I haven't heard of any actual updates.
