It's a prequel, and from the looks of it most of it's CGI and stuff rather than actual machinima. Looks awesome :v:
Does anyone else think that the pilot chick sounds a bit like Ellen Degeneres?

That might simply be for the trailer, though. I do think it would be interesting though if we see more of the characters without their helmets on like in the trailer.
So... does it even count as machinima anymore?
Wait this is still going, last time i watched it was like 3 years ago.

Got boring though

Does it matter?
holy ssHITTTT
These guys made a fortune from machinimas.
I am going to miss Caboose
Is Caboose going to be in this? I loved that guy.
Chances are there will be a couple cameos.
Eh... im not a fan of Monty Oum coming into RvB and basically doing everything for them. It's better when it's just him doing occasional things to break up the actual machinima. Like one fight scene.

It's not like he's writing it.
The way I see it, RvB ended when The Blood Gulch Chronicles ended.
This stuff is still good, and fun to watch, but its just not the same.
I've been following Red vs Blue since the first season and I am so fucking lost on what's going on these days.
I miss when they weren't all serious and it was mostly just comedy
Damn, made a thread for this since I didn't see one. Do I need glasses or something?
This looks totally awesome, anyway. I hope the trailer's full animations weren't behaving like the intro cutscenes for a Final Fantasy game. I like having gameplay AND rendering, but it would really help the guys out if they can be allowed to take the story to places not pre-determines and constrained by whatever maps happen to be available in their games. Making full environments and models for their own stuff gives them so much more freedom, and I like seeing what they manage when their restrictions are lessened.
As to the original cast, you KNOW they're not going to cut them out. We at least saw the Reds in the trailer. The gang ARE Red vs Blue. It just doesn't work without them in it, and they know it. Their characters are what made the series such a classic, and no amount of new blood, be it Wash, the Meta or whoever else, is ever going to replace that.
My only fear with this, is what will they need to do AFTER this season? Making a prequel season essentially tells us you're finished with development on the usual timeline. Basically, Wash joined the Gulch guys, Church and Tex are exiled to their own little world forever, and Sarge and the Reds have essentially fulfilled their destinies. I'd always though Sarge's big, ACTUALLY poignant speech at the end of the last season felt too epic for them to go back to the way they were, but "prequel" never sprang to mind.
Rooster Teeth has managed a lot of their own stuff in recent years. "Achievement Hunter", their "RT Shorts", "Immersion"...but they can't rely on sales of the old seasons forever. They're a company; they have to move forward. And while they've tried a number if mini-series ideas, none of those captured the same magic as RVB. As long as there is RT, there must continue to be Red vs Blue. And so I wonder...what about NEXT year?
