Really worth the watch: [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ekOtn7L1N0[/media] He lives up to his name rather well here.
I thought Facepunch hated Angry Joe. That being said he does make some good points, I personally think backwards compatibility isn't too big a deal but other than that the whole thing just seems like a scam.
I know he wants to get a reaction video out there fast, and I guess that's sort of a good idea to make sure it's relevant to the times, it would be like posting a PS4 reveal reaction video tomorrow. But surely it wouldn't hurt him to clean himself up before one of these, and maybe get a better quality camera too. I do agree with his points though, even if the presentation is sub-par.
So much yelling. I'm scared.
really astounds me that "gamers" do not understand that they are not the target audience of these press conferences. They are not for you. They are for the stockholders and for larger new organizations to cherry pick clips from, not the guys waiting for the new Terarria (aka 5% of their target demographic) [editline]21st May 2013[/editline] has there EVER been a press conference in the history of E3/pre-e3 where "gamers" didn't find something to complain about? No. You'd think they'd get the picture eventually...
He's kinda right. If Microsoft utterly bombs, Us sony fanboys will party for a whole of two seconds until Sony starts exploiting their Console market monopoly and in the worst case, another gaming crash will be incoming as devs leave it due to potential outrageous terms from sony. Along with that goes much of the PC AAA market and we'll be left with a gaming market that either fumbles to migrate to Wii U or panics and goes all mobile. This is my personal worst case scenario. as much as i find Microsoft to be dumbshit out of touch, i really don't want them to crash in the gaming department after Nintendo didn't bother "fighting." They showed NOTHING useful for customers outside USA and they took "lol you're not buying, but subscribing" way beyond reason.
that didnt take long
They fucking BOMBED themselves. Not in the "lolentertainment" focus, but the retarded "lolDRM" idiocy. Microsoft. shooting themselves in the foot again. Why am i surprised? THAT was on the same premise as this conference, but they didn't tard around with Spielberg and "LOLTV!!!" Also, their announced specs were much less vague. This is retarded beyond acceptable. It's painfully obvious that they're too busy pushing some Windows 8 Ecosystem, Apple Style, to give a single salty shit about gaming. Not a single chance i'll let that shit into my house. It has no purpose because it claims to do everything... in USA. They have NO market in Europe or Asia.

We can understand the specs and the complete lack of games and the really awful direction the industry is going.

DRM has been around on PCs for ages and there is a massive irony in PC gamers saying "I'm sticking to PC" when DRM on PC even at its lowest level is more restricting, the "industry" is expanding and videogames are not necessarily taking any collateral damage (show me the damage being done), and lack of games? They literally just announced the console. also I haven't seen a single person complain about the specs. it's almost identical to the PS4 specs anyway. [editline]21st May 2013[/editline] this "rant" is almost as long as the press conference anyway, how many games could they have properly announced in 24 minutes without skipping over literally everything else lol
Fuck the xbox people.Ps4 and PC is where it's at.
You know someone's [i]really[/i] angry when they use the word 'livid'.

So, it's understandable to be angry when a big company announces even more DRM instead of at least a less restrictive variety. Also, my main gripe isnt even with the paywall or the focus off of games, it's with the TV aspect. I want to know how microsoft will deal with the TV part internationally. If I can't get the same service in Canada as I would in the States, what the fuck is the point of the thing at all.

Then the stock-holders won't get shit. I think that's how it works.
Glad I don't plan on getting the new Xbox, this only reinforces that for me. GTA 5 will be the last game I buy for the 360 then it's all over.

The DRM they are proposing here is much more lenient and flexible if anything. Besides that, things "used" to be the way you described but what does microsoft or any dev have to gain from having used games or letting people lend each other games? You will have a hard time finding a single game developer that supports used games. It harms the industry and supports the "tyrant" (not my words) that is gamestop. Why is that a good thing? Even in the specific context of at a party you can just simply bring your gamertag over and the game will play without an issue. Beyond that, there are ways to pirate on the xbox, as you likely well know, so I don't really get your point. Anyway, the way the TV thing works is you have to buy a separate box, just like a cable box, which runs into your xbox. I think it's a pretty clunky implementation but in the same it's not for me.

Also, Most DRM that doesn't require clients allow multiple people to play the same game, with the same serial on multiple computers. Hell, Even Steam and Origin allows that via Offline mode. You should stop tirading like this, you've obviously got no clue about the subject of DRM. [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] Also, You're never required to pay a fucking Hostage fee to play your PC game on another piece of hardware. [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] "we will not block used game sales" What a fucking lie. The press should be at their throats now. But no. Fuck that, we've got Mountain Dew and Halo!
-snip- was thinking of someone else, my bad :>
Wait, that was Angry Joe? He Looked like just an Average Joe if anything until the very end. Yeah, I don't like his video's that much but he is pretty much hitting the nail on the head here.
he should do more videos while sleep deprived holy shit
Well they just fucked it for themselves haven't they. No more second hand games, no more second hand shops, a lot of shitty shops are going to struggle with the xbox one cause nobody will be buying or selling used games, which I'm pretty sure they must make a good share of their profits from. Old school shops just won't sell Xbox one or their games altogether because this is all just a bunch of wtf. I'm pretty sure already that I'll never purchase an Xbox one. Which is a shame for microsoft but oh well. I hope they don't bother pc games with GFWL now.
-snip, fuck this I don't want to get into an argument over the internet-
My brother was telling me about this and how it didn't look bad. How you could seamlessly switch back and forth between channels and such on the Xbox, and it could have bubbles. IMHO this looks like a terribly shitty console, and I play my Xbox 360 the most out of PC, PS3, Wii, and WiiU.

If PS4 ends up being cheaper than this Microsoft is beyond fucked.

So are we going to have to say X:O now? It looks like some weird emoticon.
LOL at console gamers raging. xbox one and ps4 are just straight up PCs now. So of course it's going to require installation, and not support backwards compatibility. AMD cpus and gpus with 8gb of ram.
