Feels like it's gonna be a FC copy with liberating towers and such (or areas in this case).
Looks like an urban Far Cry to me, I don't know how I feel about this.

I'm cool with it.
Ever since those brick urban areas in Fallout 3, I've been itching for a proper open world urban combat guerilla simulator.
I like the ambient music enough, but holy shit this game really is a carbon copy of FC4 gone bad. (Outposts, RS to execute, stealth-lite, same healing system, hell even the healthbar and map are the same.)
This demo is empty. There's literally nothing in the environment. For a game with the subtitle 'The Revolution' I would expect to see somebody, anybody on the street.
Crytek did the original Far Cry so it kinda makes sense this looks like a Far Cry game.

All of the mechanics they took are from Ubisoft's recent Far Cry games though. They're not really comparable to FC1.
That shitheads head is distracting me from the gameplay

You're not missing anything new
it looked fun, but considering it's about a revolution, I was honestly expecting it to be at least a little bit more gritty.
The guy playing it was shit.

Not all open world games have a near identical healing mechanic and animation as Far Cry 3/4.
i forgot this existed
I was hoping for something more tactical and actual guerilla-feeling rather than just run around shoot guys.

So because it has a similar healing animation the game is FC now? How about we reserve judgement for when the game has more gameplay shown.
I thought this was being developed by Deep Silver? :V

When it first was announced... it was (or was extremely scripted), however this game almost got canned because crytech losing money... looks like a "safe" grab all the mechanics from other games now.
Kind of bothers me that this has gone full blown sci-fi.
Its a series about a super North Korea building concentration camps in America.
Kinda hard to predict how it'll go.

Kinda bothers me that they pussied out and didn't just go for a USA vs China thing.
Or hell go old school and just USSR vs USA, or even Nazi VS USA for the first game.
I still think North Korea as a new evil commie bad guy in movies and games is ridiculous if done outside of Comedy.

The first one already had turrets that would scan you and were totally AI controlled, as well as a 6 wheeled attack tank drone that had dual MGs and a rocket launcher that could act independently.
FC3/4 clone or not, it doesn't look as though it raises the bar, let alone touches it, in any way. Little tactical depth, linear missions, really boring combat and mediocre gunplay. Give us the same premise but where you're in command of the guerillas and fight a dynamic insurgency, where you don't push-over every enemy outpost just because you're the good guys. Actually having to take advantage of and worry about the advantages and disadvantages of insurgents (blending with civis, hit & run attacks, inferior equipment etc), rather than just unlocking things through progression, and you already have a much more compelling game.

Crytech is dumb as fuck. They don't seem to consider that maybe they are losing money because they continue to release bland sequels and shit games that are uninspired and only steal concepts from what is popular at the time.
They could easily make a new Timesplitters or spend their time doing something interesting with their engine, but instead they just make generic military FPS #34,192.

Also the exact same HUD assets and layout as FC3/4.
Man, this concept had so much potential but it looks like they're making the same mistake the original Homefront devs did: thinking having a unique idea means you don't have to do anything unique with it and can just copy whatever is popular (in the original's case it was CoD, looks like this time it's FC).
Reminds me of Freedom Fighters.
I'm hoping that they go more indepth with attacking in the Blue Zones. I'd imagine that it'd be far more guerilla campaign in those areas where KPA security is the highest.

Here's one without the shiny bald head

It looks fun and im still excited for it but i'm worried about a few things. But it could be chalked up mostly to the guy playing it.
The ai felt really stupid and weak, coulda been an easy difficulty but it just seemed like you could walk up to a group of enemies and just like casually punch them out. It also felt slow, but that i'm like positive it was due to the player.
I forgot about those.
I forgot everything about the first Homefront.
I played through the first one not long ago
it's pretty good in my opinion
I just wish the campaign were longer.
like MUCH longer, you could get through the whole thing in a couple hours.

Mercenaries did it pretty well.

I haven't said anything regarding the open world, have I?
I really want to like this because it's not only the first open world first person shooter-y game like this to take place in a completely urban area like this, but it's the first one to take place in my area, Philly.
I just kind of wish it were China, is all. Having it be KPA just makes it feel completely comedic
