What a bunch of idiots.
I thought this was going to be just a few people fucking it up for everyone around them, but a lot of people seem to stand there and just watch it all happen. Do none of them realize how easily this can cause hearing damage or fuck up their eyes? And even worse, there were kids around. Just disgusting...

I still can't believe people drive their cars innercity on NYE, reminds of one time in LA and people were drunk as fuck smearing mayonnaise/whipped cream or something on tortillas and then throwing it at passing cars. Shit was brutal this one nice lexus pulled up and sure enough it got hit, stupid guy got out and started taking it off which lead to even more throwing.
I have seen the damage fireworks can do to one's face. These guys are a bunch of irresponsible idiots.
Oh I had to go to a hospital one time getting hit by a mortar firework and having this insane burn from a flare part. Happened because some idiot loaded the mortar shell upside down. Burned a big hole through my shorts and everything.
Seriously, these people should have been arrested. Even if noone was hurt, this is attempted assault.
It is really that big a deal? I know that it's a crowded city and there are bystanders and all, but no one got hurt and the participants seemed pretty willing. At least, I think. I couldn't really comprehend what was actually going on, but considering the video description states that "the atmosphere remained jovial", it doesn't seem like it crashed the party or anything. I know fireworks are dangerous, but really this is just another brand of midnight NYE hooliganism. Reminds me of that practice of firing guns into the air on celebrations like NYE.
We here in Sweden got a lot of imported rocket-scientists from the middle east, that is for sure. Police and state have completely given up when it comes to safety of its citizens, they let these criminals harass the public unhindered... It is almost as if you are trolling.
Malmo police has Ford E-350 vans?
This is such an uneducated, dumb and apologetic post, I cannot believe it. It is almost as if you are trolling.
Sure it's irresponsible to play with fireworks, but if the participants are willing, I can think of a million things worse. It's also irresponsible for people to drink heavily and get into accidents/fights/whatever and I've been told (from EMTs) that rates of alcohol-related incidents spike hugely over New Years. Regrettable sure, but reckless behaviour is quite common, and I can't think of any non-totalitarian way to stop it.

Oh you lost an eye to a rocket, how did that happen? Oh your home burned down, how did that happen?" Stop being apologetic to hooliganism and criminals. What you compared it to is incomparable. Stop it by banning it in the city, only outside the city. I know towns in Norway have done that and it worked perfectly.

I'm saying stuff like this happens all the time. The US has banned celebratory gunfire yet people still die from it. I'm also not sure about the context about this video. It was 2 and a half minutes long and there really didn't seem like there was that much cause for alarm. From what I understand "revellers battling" implied willing participants and "atmosphere remained jovial" implied no real damage was done. Go ahead and ban fireworks if you'd like, but what I'm saying truly is that this particular incident wasn't a train smash. I'd personally be way if I went into a place with lots of fireworks going off (as I was this NYE, the group next to me had poorly stabilised a few and that had misaimed them). Firework battles, even fireworks in general, are dangerous as they are, but they're not huge deals. I'd rather something like this than another Cologne incident, for example. Perhaps these lads should get reprimanded with fines or community service or something, but all in all, this kind of thing is mostly harmless a huge majority of the time.

"No damage was done, jovial atmosphere" - what you don't understand is that it could VERY easily have resulted in damage and even death. Death is no big deal? It's just jovial! You got a very uncaring and unemphatic attitude, sure you might find it fun and harmless, but you don't realize fireworks can destroy and kill.

There's an LA Beast video of the guy getting shot with fireworks again and again from a few metres away and walking away unscathed. I know the average person is not as hardy as him, but he was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. It's not like he's invincible. The thing this boils down to is prohibiting behaviour because we believe people may be hurt. From this, I see that 4 people die each year in the US from fireworks. That really isn't that much. Recreational gun use kills people. Full-contact sports kill people. There have even been paintball fatalities. My point is that of course something like this was dangerous and irresponsible to get unwilling bystanders involved, but honestly, the danger of incidents like these is pretty overplayed. The conditions in that video were completely ripe for someone to get badly burned at the very least, yet it seems no one did.

Well, like the third time we did this, the main guy Greg got drunk as shit and went to load a mortar tube. He stuck it in upside down then stepped back and walked away. The thing launched and the vacuum it created above it sucked it up in to the air just a couple of feet over the ground where it exploded and showered everyone in sparks. Of course being drunken red necks, they though this shit was the best. So that just became a sort of regular thing they'd do after that.
get da watuh nigguh

Idiots blowing their hands off is a real thing.
I must admit, even though it's dangerous as fuck, it looks cool. With all the bright colors and flashes and stuff.
Malmo police has Ford E-350 vans?
IIRC Malmö has maybe five, Stockholm has two and Gothenburg have one or two as well. They're very rare.
Sure it's irresponsible to play with fireworks, but if the participants are willing, I can think of a million things worse. Generally when something is going the typical swede will just stare angrily rather than say anything. Because of this it's very difficult to differ those who are "willing" from the rest. Ontop of that during NYE there's a fuckton of accidents primarily in suburban areas. During this year's celebration for example an apartment building was badly damaged due to a raging fire caused bootleg fireworks being used improperly.
Nearly every post of yours seem to default to putting blame on immigrants. Are you okay?
Honestly I don't blame him, PC has made our country fall into decline. Now I don't think that this particular video or thread is related to immigration (I've seen retard swedes nearly blow themselves up) but most accidents during NYE in Sweden takes place in suburbs with foreign majorities.
That looks incredibly fun, and even more terrifying.
Nearly every post of yours seem to default to putting blame on immigrants. Are you okay?
apparently the swedish language and people have changed a lot since I last went there.
In a lot of states in the US it's harder to acquire certain fireworks than it is a firearm. Idiots blowing their hands off is a real thing.
I think that's more just an America issue. In other countries the average citizen has enough brain cells to not maim themselves with a firework. Like seriously just don't fucking hold things that are about to explode, not that hard.
I can understand people who think this would be fun. It's people who don't think one step ahead. What about damage to property? Damaged cars? Fuck, I would be furious if my car got hit. People DO get injured by fireworks. Look at the kids crying, taking cover behind the car. Is that "good fun"?
Malmö represent, yo.
Seems fun when its a one on one thing with roman candles or something, but something of this magnitude is extremely dangerous.
Apparently this is something people have been doing every year for the past 15-20 years. The guy responsible for the video says that there was generally a good mood but he also saw some crying children and a woman who got her foot burned.
