[vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/ueswil.webm[/vid] Edit: Interesting comment which I am unsure of the validity of
Making this issue about Islam or sexism is completely missing the point. This is about culture. In the Middle East there are two types of cafes. There are Starbucks-style ones that men and women both use. Then there are the shabby workers' cafes that are only used by men, for example construction workers have breakfast there before setting out to work. Seeing a woman in a worker's cafe is similar to seeing a woman in a male-only British gentlemen's club, or like a bunch of guys trying to play football and some random girl coming in to join. Having a woman there changes the whole dynamic of the venue, the same way having a woman on a male football team would turn the whole thing into a joke. A guy who needs to hang out with a woman can simply go to one of the more upscale cafes in Cairo, Abu Dhabi or Istanbul. Of course the virtues and vices of such a culture can be debated. But it is naive to think you can have immigrants without them bringing their culture with them.
But also, keep in mind these were woman of the same ethnicity. I am unsure how their response might be to those who look even more different. Anyone interested in seeing the full video with all infos that hasn't been cut after the initial inflamatory stuff and also includes an interview with the cafe owner can view it
Might be time to throw a couple of starbucks and crap in that area and forcefully gentrify it.
Might be time to throw a couple of starbucks and crap in that area and forcefully gentrify it.
that's racist
"it's for your own good" is that an actual threat?
that's racist
Genuinely curious on how it is, please explain. Not trying to ridicule, i'd just like to know. I'm having a hard time seeing it as such.
"it's for your own good" is that an actual threat?
i think it was in a sexist patronizing vein. more of a "you don't know better" than an "or else..."
These are the cultural problems that people in the west completely refuse to discuss or even acknowledge. I wish these kinds of investigative reports were more mainstream with more views. Why isn't this on youtube?
What the hell man. You can go ahead and oppress women in your own country where the law allows it, but you're on France soil, you obey their rules.
Honestly disgraceful, I can understand cultural differences but that isn't your home country, they shouldn't be forcefully establishing their culture in another country, it should be adapted to work with whats already there and in France its perfectly fine to gender mix in public and private establishments, to do otherwise is walking a legal line. I'm honestly kinda sick of seeing this stuff because its happening even here, we've got a very vocal muslim minority that are trying to push everything else out and establish their culture as law, no one is having it and its gotten violent a few times which is beyond ridiculous, last thing I want is a 3 way clash between british, polish and muslim cultures in this area, the polish have happily integrated so why these guys cant is beyond me, is it too much to get that traditionalist stick out of their asses and realize that the whole world doesn't revolve around their ideals because that's how they're presenting it and its disgusting. Or maybe I'm thinking of this in a "too western" way, even saying that feels backwards.
That's fucked. I have no clue why some people treat women as cattle and intimidate them.
What I find funny is it's just values we outgrew. It would've been the same way here until like what, the 20s?
What I find funny is it's just values we outgrew. It would've been the same way here until like what, the 20s?
i wouldn't know for sure, but i suspect "the 20s" is quite generous
Genuinely curious on how it is, please explain. Not trying to ridicule, i'd just like to know. I'm having a hard time seeing it as such.
I guarantee you if you try and replace a migrant café with a Starbucks the media isn't going to construe it as cultural improvement
"it's for your own good" is that an actual threat?
It wasn't said as a threat. It was more like in a "I don't care" way
This is what happens when you don't force integration and let them live in the same area, form their own communities, you get countries inside countries and move everyone else out.
This is what happens when you don't force integration and let them live in the same area, form their own communities, you get countries inside countries and move everyone else out.
There's nothing inherently wrong with ethnic enclaves. Both Americas have plenty of them, and nobody but morons have any issues with them. The issue comes when the cultural norms being brought in are so different to the norms of their host country that it encourages crimes to occur. For example, committing hate crimes because women are [del]invading[/del] "invading" implicitly men-only spaces.

It's not like it's 1960s France where are 'coal miner's' pubs around and where women wore scarves over their heads on their way to buy groceries. this is why enclaves are the fucking worst for immigrant integration.
This is islamisation of these areas where muslims move in, you got to be a naive fool to not see it.

This was a phrase that wasn't addressed specifically towards Arabic countries. There is a huge (over 30%, and the more you go towards East, the percentage increases up to 100%) Russian part of the community in Estonia, but saying that it is nowhere near as bad doesn't even begin to describe it. The issues are fairly non-existant, the only issue is only with people who know Estonian on a bad level, everything else is like in all other countries - harmonic.

:( Poor Europe. You guys are losing your own culture little by little.
:( Poor Europe. You guys are losing your own culture little by little.
How's that Chinese buyout going in Canada eh? This stuff is happening everywhere.
How's that Chinese buyout going in Canada eh? This stuff is happening everywhere.
Chinese buyout doesn't reduce your culture since they don't actually move there.
:( Poor Europe. You guys are losing your own culture little by little.
Canada/USA have a unique culture?
How's that Chinese buyout going in Canada eh? This stuff is happening everywhere.
That's a low blow, don't make fun of our crappy economy!
Canada/USA have a unique culture?
We have Hockey, and cold as fuck winters.
Chinese buyout doesn't reduce your culture since they don't actually move there.
Losing acres of property that are simply investment toys to people outside the country has no effect on our culture, economy, or housing prices... Ye
"We do things here like we do in our home country" But it isn't your home country, and, if you wanted to do things like they do it there, why not stay there?
