I hate how she's being so sure about everything, and making fun of the other people, even though, they sorta started it, and are being awkwardly silly (darwin had tried god plenty). Science is kanon, but that doesn't really prove that there isn't a god. What if god just created the world, and then observed without interacting? We can't really be sure about anything anytime soon, so discussing religion is silly. [sp]Agnostic 4 lyfe[/sp][sp]or until the creator/creators show themselves[/sp]

Contrary to what some other people like to think, science can't disprove the existence of a creator(s), all it can disprove is the existence of pretty much every god in every religion. [sp]Agnostic 4 lyfe[/sp] But regardless of anyone's opinion on the her, you can't deny the people in the video are a bunch of idiots. Parts of the original video sound more like atheist propaganda than christian propaganda (specially the "2+2=5" part).

Agnosticism seems really dumb to me.
shes attractive I would be atheist for her
Why not pick atheist or theist and be a sensible person with the right to change their opinion when evidence is given? I tend to refer to myself as agnostic because I feel like sometimes 'atheist' has connotations to those really obnoxious militant atheist "hahaha look at all these dumbo christian sheeple" types
I tend to refer to myself as agnostic because I feel like sometimes 'atheist' has connotations to those really obnoxious militant atheist "hahaha look at all these dumbo christian sheeple" types
you really shouldn't worry about that. if someone thinks you're an irritating /r/atheism bigot just because you identify as an atheist it's his preconcieved dumb ideas to be the problem.

[sp]Agnostic 4 lyfe[/sp][sp]or until the creator/creators show themselves[/sp]
Not believing in a creator or something like that and leaving yourself open to the possibility is still atheism. Not being open to possibilities and thinking your opinion on whether or not a creator exists is the only truth that can't be questioned is plain retarded.
I think about 2.30 she does say, 'No we're saying there's no God!'. Throughout most of the vid she's implying that believing in God is stupid. I don't mind a bit of healthy debate, and everyone is entitled to my own opinion. I believe it's healthy to have friends of different beliefs, so I have both religous and athiest friends, but none of them are uptight arrogant pricks about it, they just kind of keep to their own opinion and are really humble about their beliefs. But like so many internet millitant athiests/Christians, this chick has to take it to levels of ridicule by showing examples of Christians who sadly cannot stray their eyes past thousands of years of dogma. Do I blame them for being so closed-minded? Partially yes, all humans have choice, whether you believe that's a spiritual right or a naturally evolved trait. But when you're born into dogma, and raised believing it was true, it's like that old movie 'Blast from the Past' where a prepper family is hanging out in their vault when a plane falls on their house, thinking it's a nuclear bomb, they stay in their vault underground for 25 years or so, completely believing the world has ended. The child, grows up believing the outside world is a dangerous and hostile place. This is the same with religion in families, some families might drill the doctrine into their head, whether it be religious or anti-religious. I was hanging out with an athiest friends family and when someone on the radio mentioned God, the father scoffed and the mother smirked and said 'Ridiculous', even the little brother was rolling his eyes. I'm sure it'd be the same in a Christian family. To the disappointment of most of the world (as we're expected to be one or the other), I'm someone who both believes in God and spirituality but firmly accepts theories of science as true, in fact, I enjoy science enough to study Physics in university and want to do post-graduate studies to further that knowledge. I've read the Bible, but I don't take the word of it's writer as the word of God. If I want a religious experience, I go out camping in a beautiful valley or travel to other countries and watch the sun set on the other side of the world and appreciate what I believe is the product of billions of years of systemic creation. Obverse the natural systems which God created, including the miracle of evolution, and how life progresses down a path of constant evolution until it's extinction. I'm new-agey sure, but I'm proud to be part of a system of beliefs that promotes acceptance of all perspectives of life, as long as they inspire peace, love and unity. I'm happy to be part of a belief that we all have something new to learn from our brothers and sisters on this planet, of different race and creed, not long ago I was reading about the origins of Buddhism, now I'm moving onto Bhagavad-Gita's 'As It Is' to learn more about the beliefs of Krishna. Personally, I believe that growth in the mental, physical and spiritual aspects of life all stem from the expansion of knowledge and quest for inner-truth and answers. This might not be sitting on the floor of your dirty apartment smoking weed and swaying to Himalayan chanting along to 'Ohms', but through a process of self-discovery and the quest to become more 'in-tune' with one's self, which starts with becoming in tune, and harmonious with one's environment, for example, by leaving people to their beliefs, no matter how at odds with yours, or your logic (or perception of life) they may be. Shantiprema!

What is wrong with Deism...
On a serious note. Science is a very vague term to be using. To say science is wrong is to say EVERYTHING is wrong. Logic is a type of science and if that is wrong then how does one even come to a conclusion of any sort? "Science is wrong. My argument is logical..." But without science there is no logic. I think this is some sort of paradox. I blew my mind.
Agnosticism doesn't even make sense, it's basically just another word for atheism because saying you're agnostic implies not believing in any god.
Atheist = Believes there's no god, period. Agnostic = Doesn't believe in any religions but doesn't deny the possibility of a god existing. Of course, a lot of agnostic people identified themselves as atheist and thus the word kinda lost its meaning and there's barely any point in making a difference now.
She's like the Amazing Atheist except hot subscribed
Why not pick atheist or theist and be a sensible person with the right to change their opinion when evidence is given? Agnosticism seems really dumb to me.
Why not let people believe what they want to believe because they're a human being and they can do so.
Atheist = Believes there's no god, period. Agnostic = Doesn't believe in any religions but doesn't deny the possibility of a god existing. Of course, a lot of agnostic people identified themselves as atheist and thus the word kinda lost its meaning and there's barely any point in making a difference now.
actually the second definition would be more correct for atheism. In fact atheism means just not believing in god, the reasons for that and the scale of non belief (from "there might be" to "100% sure there isn't.) are irrelevant to it. That's why agnosticism is just the same thing under another name. It was coined by someone who was an atheist but didn't want to identify as one.
Why not let people believe what they want to believe because they're a human being and they can do so.
People can believe whatever they want, some people believe the Earth is flat and is 6000 years old, but I don't have to like it, and I don't have to respect it
People can believe whatever they want, some people believe the Earth is flat and is 6000 years old, but I don't have to like it, and I don't have to respect it
And that's perfectly reasonable, just don't be a dick about your beliefs and shit. Same applies to everyone.
And that's perfectly reasonable, just don't be a dick about your beliefs and shit. Same applies to everyone.
No, believing that the world is 6000 years old is not reasonable.
No, believing that the world is 6000 years old is not reasonable.
Why? Most people who are religious aren't saying "Everything I say is right and I know it for a fact." Most of them say "I believe this, it might be true, might not, but I believe it."
Why not pick atheist or theist and be a sensible person with the right to change their opinion when evidence is given?
Why? Most people who are religious aren't saying "Everything I say is right and I know it for a fact." Most of them say "I believe this, it might be true, might not, but I believe it."
If your belief is empirically wrong, you might just be delusional.
If your belief is empirically wrong, you might just be delusional.
If they're really that delusional, what's the point in arguing with them, then? Let them live in their lil world they have in their head, our words wont do anything.
If they're really that delusional, what's the point in arguing with them, then? Let them live in their lil world they have in their head, our words wont do anything.
Well one thing that does help these kinds of people is challenging their beliefs or "Rocking the boat" It can go in 2 ways after that, that person might actually question his beliefs or he might turn hostile and be even more entrenched in his beliefs, worth a try.
If they're really that delusional, what's the point in arguing with them, then? Let them live in their lil world they have in their head, our words wont do anything.
If they're delusional, and keep trying to convince others that they are right. They are a problem. That's why we challenge them.
