The absolute madman.
I want the news to talk about it now, and then connect it with the alt-right so hard that pepe becomes the new symbol of the alt-right.
Like w/ flags and buttons.
i wonder what this guy's home life is like
imagine valuing the opinions of a bunch of anonymous jackasses this much
This entire speech opened the floodgates for memes to influence reality
The noise of a bunch of neckbeards shitposting on anime forums somehow became so loud that their opponent had to call them out by name, and now they are in the spotlight of the entire world. CNN linked directly to /pol/ and had to explain what a "normie" is.
Clinton basically declared a War on Memes with this speech and we can now expect shitposting to be a major campaign tactic in future elections

I get what you are saying but I am not sure if Clinton declared war on the very concept of Memes.

Just looking through news articles now, and yeah that's already happening, finding some hilariously bad articles.
While specifically pepe and Gamergate oriented memes (anything involving cuckolds) will inevitably become the official Trump memes, I think the rest of the internet is safe from Clinton's ire.

I...

Well obviously gamergate is an evil terrorist organization working with ISIS to ensure the systematic holocaust of white women
you shitlord
Brilliant. Simply brilliant.
I just love the equating of the "alt-right" with racism. I doubt she even knows the basics of the massive range of beliefs that fall under that description.

All he did was just yell pepe, there's no reason to be so damn rude.

people on pol were saying the flood of people linking to and acknowledging the presence of the alt right and pol means that more people will visit and more people will join into the ideology
which is odd because i feel like not being racist and stuff is common sense but who knows

As far as I can tell, the origin of cuck being used so much, or at least popularization of the term, in the mainly white male cross-section of GG that supports Trump, comes from Anthony Burch apparently (I never looked into it, because what the fuck that's so dumb) being a cuckold???
I could be wrong, but I remember seeing GG having a ton of fun at Busch's expense by calling him a cuck, then calling any male associated with Zoe Quinn or against GG that as well. I then noticed that the reactionaries of /pol/ and other alt-right Trump fans were using the term to describe their opponents.
So that is far from conclusive, but it seemed intuitive to me that two alt-right reactionary movements would have some of the same members using the same memes on their enemies.

ah yes, the massive range, from Obama is a muslim, to some races are biologically smarter than others and a bit of feminism is cancer
I know only a certain part of the alt-right are "racial realists" or "white nationalists", but the rest of them don't inspire much confidence
the amount of anti-black and anti-semite imagery used by alt-right users and websites is enough to convince me the entire thing is old white supremacy + young men on the internet

Oh my god people literally don't like Burch because he
- used memes
- replied positively to constructive criticism from FF
- had an open relationship that then ended
- did not like GG
the way people talk about him i thought it was MUCH worse
why are we talking about zoey quinn
Sorry, I just see a direct line between young alt-right Trump supporters and Gamergate. No causation or anything, just a group of similar people liking both things.
The harassment and fear tactics that started with Quinn are now being used on any reporter who says anything remotely bad about Trump, and also on Democrats whose information was leaked via Wikileaks.
While specifically pepe and Gamergate oriented memes (anything involving cuckolds)
calm down love
In a way Quinn was a pioneer in being harassed in a way that is very common now among anyone too vocal against Trump online.
Of course, the alt-right would just say that all of Trump's enemies are just as good at playing the victim as Quinn, but I digress.

not reported are widespread instances of uncoordinated harassment against reporters. I study journalism and policy so I follow a lot of election focused journalists on twitter, and it's a frequent topic of theirs

Screamed a meme at a rally without getting the fucking shit kicked out of him. So brave.

the alt right is a sloush between some left ideologies which makes it appealing, racism is just thrown in with jokes and shit to disguise itself properly
Alt-right seems more like the term SJW, used by a select few originally but only became widely known as an epithet.
Personally I just find the idea of bringing shitposting into real life politics funny and I'm sure most of them do too. All hail Kek the chaos god.
Sorry, I just see a direct line between young alt-right Trump supporters and Gamergate.
Honestly though no one gives a shit. It's just a video of a guy yelling a tired meme at a rally. No need to bring up this whole conspiracy about how everything's connected.

Why are we bringing up an amorphous blob of a consumer movement as a way to somehow justify the sheer stupidity and ignorance of people involved in Trump. Most Trump supporters can't even figure out where the f key is let alone perform coordinated strikes.
Further; since when has Quinn, who gagged an ex she abused using the fastest and loosest interpretation of MA laws and also was just recently outed as trying to blacklist a journalist because said journalist dared to say to both sides in that fiasco 'Oi, you're both acting like idiots', a victim?
I could go on for hours but don't drag in the queen of lies and a known goon who rejoiced a 'confirmed kill' during helldump days.

considering GG is a movement with no specific left/right political alignment thats made up mostly of left leaning gamers according to numerous polls and twitter stats from before GG a you have to admit its a bit of an odd line to be seeing. Unless you just read a kotaku article and it convinced you that suddenly a massive amount of younger gamers, a typically left leaning demographic is suddenly all racist extremist right wingers.

A tip for you, everyone with any significance at all on the internet receives numerous messages, emails and references that can be taken as harassment. At this point it just depends on who is sleezy enough to write an article pretending its a problem exclusive to any particular individuals, ideologies or groups rather than just a problem on the internet as a whole. It's really quite dumbfounding how so many people who so clearly understood that people become dicks online suddenly want to pretend its just their political opponents.
These days bias in media most effectively manifests as what they choose to cover and ignore, rather than flaws in reporting, despite both being universal. Choosing to cover harrassment of someone on "your side" but not people on "the other side" is one of the most prominent examples of this, and was not only the key to biased gamergate coverage but is also become more and more relevant for people looking to target movements like BLM and groups like "trump supporters".
Leave it to person11 to bring up unrelated stuff and bait everyone into discussing it. I get it, gamergate is Tea party movement now.
