I never really understood the point of these skins. Some of them look okay I guess but most of them are too colourful or make the gun appear as a water gun which looks silly in my opinion.
It would be nice if Valve made the default guns in a special stattrak case or something..

It's kind of possible to convert it into "real" money, I suppose, for example if a friend wants a game or something from Steam you could always use the money in the Steam wallet to gift said thing to them, and then having them pay you for it.
Or you could see it as winning free software
Or take a bigger risk and go through middlemen or something and convert it into Paypal dollars or something? Not as much of a bigger risk if you know someone irl who will buy it off of you for real dollars instead of Steam fun dollars.

Believe me, you don't. I've spent around 120$ on CS GO cases and got absolute shit. Nothing of good value at all.
I wasted about $400 on TF2 while I was playing it, got back about $100. While my (super poor) friend opened a crate after I gifted him a key and got a pretty fuckin valuable unusual :v: (he split the profit with me though so I do not mind)

I made $25 that night from bravo cases alone.

I like the skins. Well some of them.
And they help the game not dying and being replaced by a yearly release and stuff.
