Same with every sport that involves violence of some sort. Just cheap hits and seeing who can cause the most brain damage.
It's bullshit really, back when it was just a sport to play and have fun with.
I remember when I was younger, I'd get into a lot of fights because someone would cheap hit someone on our team and vice versa. I've seen people break their legs, arms, bloody noses, gashed cheeks and chins.
It's really fucking stupid when people take it too an extent just too cause damage to someone else.
I remember seeing a video of a hockey player who got his throat slit. Not sure if he survived.

Wasn't it a team trainer that ended up being the guy that basically saved his life? The dude was a veteran and managed to pinch off the artery before he bled out.
