You can definitely see some difference if you have ever played the beta. Lots of polish, different title screen sprites (just look at the video thumbnail), Expert is locked from the start.
I think the Star Fox 2 in the SNES Classic might be the fabled "complete version".
What gives me that idea is that the copyright for the title screen lists 1996 rather than 1995 like all of the existing ROMs.

It IS the complete version. Dylan Cuthbert, the programmer of the game, has personally played the retail version that he submitted to "Mario Club’ as it used to be called back in the days, when he was making Star Fox Command for the DS (they gave it to him for reference). So we knew it existed a long time ago, but we though Nintendo will never release it.
I'm not expecting anything major different from the beta version, just more stable.
Welp, if this is anything like the NES Classic, no way in hell would I be able to obtain one. I just hope the modding community is able to work their magic on it like the NES.
I'm actually quite curious to see how the game runs on an actual SNES.

The game would’ve come in a cart with an upgraded SuperFX2, which would use the extra power for graphics. Chances are it would run at about the same framerate SF1 did.
All pirate versions ship with the original SuperFX since the SFX2 chip never got released.

I’m wrong, Yoshi’s Island and Doom were SFX2 games
Oh boy, I hope they make more than 5 of these. -OH WAIT TOO LATE
Interesting to see that it has a Stereo sound option, I don't think the beta had stereo sound support?
It didn't. The Japanese Beta did have more options though, so it might be on one of those menus.
