I kind of see the Tarkovsky influence, but not too much. Perhaps in just the dreamlike and brooding atmosphere shot in very natural looking locations with some decent cinematography.
But hell, if this ever turned into a full movie back then it probably would have been one of my favorites.
It's a shame the guy would only go on to make Battlefield Earth. This was quite good.
The blocking was all over the place and the plot was odd but goddamn if that wasn't gorgeous
