I know those "hoverboards" are called drifters or drifterz or something, but I always call them Black Segways.
I see black guys, and almost exclusively black guys, ride those. I sometimes see them ride in packs like they the nigga of the future or something.
Various groups seems to have their own liking of alternate means of travel since I see so many downtown. Middle and upper class hipsters use those RC skateboards, for example, techies use those flat 1 wheel segways, mexicans use those scooters with the larger wheels, etc.
I'd be wanting to pick one of them up too if it could outdo what I can accomplish on my bike (which isn't much considering I live on a big hill)
Yesterday I saw some kid ride this thing right into the middle of the road and ride it along with the cars, then he turned into another road and disappeared from my sight.
At the beginning of the year the Frat house at my university had these things going at the recruitment booth. When I was walking by all I heard was a bunch of low pitch giggles and some meatheads gliding by. I was less spooked when I looked down and saw the hoverboard.
