It kills me that this is the kind of gunplay I'd love in a STALKER game, but it's incredibly unlikely we'll ever get that.
I'm still incredibly hyped for this though.
I'm still really cautious about this game, ever since that one guy commented on their previous business practices and how they were scumbags.
I'd be really interested if it wasn't another f2p online pvp game.

Care to elaborate? I haven't heard anything about that.
looks really nice, im hyped for sure
but i feel that the devs are making it look too good to be true, mostly at the downtown part
this game reminds me of a game, i think it was a source game made by someone here but never got released. it sort of had dungeons with chests at the end, the gunplay looked nice and the scenery was sort of in the aral sea area. if anyone has any idea of what i'm talking about i'd love to know if it went anywhere because as far as i know it never released anything.

Strive for the most realistic weapons and weapon handling ever? Still can't manage realistic sights for optics and Irons.
Why do Russian devs insist on so many backwards design choices?
This isn't some sort of racism or xenophobia on my part, it's an actual thing I've experienced: the Mastery system they mentioned sounds fucking awful, it removes skill and introduces a forced grind advantage to people with more playtime instead of just having skill depend on the player.
It's the same shit with other games by Russian devs, the most blatant of which Life is Feudal. That game forced you into grinding shit like no other. You had to max out the first skillskill, then get 75 levels on another, 50 on the next, to finally be able to try out Sewing clothes. If I remember correctly you had to master *butchering* before you could sew clothes.
Why is this a thing? Why do Russians love senseless grinding for no real good design reason?
Because only Russian devs do it, noone besides them ever does it, is that right?

Apparently this guy comes from an alternate universe where runescape and other western f2p MMORPGs never existed.

In this case, because it makes complete sense by logic? In real life, a new gamer who has never played a certain game before obviously isn't going to do as well as someone who has played the game for hundreds of hours. Similarly, a fresh recruit isn't going to perform as well as a battle hardened veteran.
The way the guns work in this game is how almost every survival game's weapons should work. Realistic as possible, and gives you the ability to mod them however you want. I'm hopeful that they'll add a crafting system in the future for building minor weapons like maybe a knife made from a railroad spike or just a sharpened piece of salvaged metal.

Brazilian devs are pretty shite from my experience :^)

Any quality pvp game like this should let you jump in after playing for 5 minutes, pick up a rock you found on the ground, and sneak up on some heavily armored guy and bash his brains in/equip his loot.
The skill required to perform these feats, read: outplay your opponents who have an advantage from their amassed resources, should let you access any and all of the content and should NOT force you to spend the same amount of time.

Is it still a big question-mark with how aimless the "story progression" is going to be?
I thought it was going to be like DayZ with more than just a casual deathmatch sandbox i.e. an actual narrative?
I'd be really interested if it wasn't another f2p online pvp game.
It isn't. It has multiple modes as explained in the video.
It's going to have different types of PVE, PVP and free roam which has both PVP and PVE possibilities.
On top of that it's a pay-once just like most actual games.
