will the old man find other old men and try to take over the world?
Intresting, but simple. I like it.
So what happened to the Ark being destroyed?
So what happened to the Ark being destroyed?
At first I thought they made it so that this takes place before the events of Halo 3, but Halo Wars 1 takes place in 2531 so plus 28 years is 2559, 6 years after the events of Halo 3 so that can't be it. My only guess would be that the ark wasn't actually destroyed by the Ring but was simply cleansed of all its life.

wasn't halo wars shit? Not that this game will be bad, but its not a good precedent.

[sp]And 343 Guilty Spark survived and is currently roaming around the galaxy on a hijacked UNSC starship looking for the Librarian.[/sp]
The Ark was heavily damaged, but the UNSC teams that were deployed assisted in repairing the Ark for some reason. I'd be surprised if the Ark couldn't repair itself over time, seems like a major design flaw for such an important Forerunner installation.
wasn't halo wars shit? Not that this game will be bad, but its not a good precedent.
It did pretty well. Plus this one will be on PC as well, so better controls. They're also bringing HW1 to PC.

Way to invalidate the ending of Halo 3 343i.
basically this is reverse Halo 3, they woke up from cryo to be above the ark instead of escaping from it and THEN going to cryo works both ways, really, what's with running away from forerunner installations and going into cryo only to find ANOTHER forerunner installation in Halo games?
Well that's dumb. Way to invalidate the ending of Halo 3 343i.
They didn't though. Nowhere in Halo 3 did they say what they were doing would destroy the Ark.
They didn't though. Nowhere in Halo 3 did they say what they were doing would destroy the Ark.
Did you miss ALL of Cortana's plan in Halo 3? Or how the portal shutting off halfway through is basically saying yeah it's destroyed.
Did you miss ALL of Cortana's plan in Halo 3? Or how the portal shutting off halfway through is basically saying yeah it's destroyed.
Halos are designed to kill sentient life, not destroy planets or structures. When the ring fired at the end of Halo 3, it destroyed itself and "did a number on The Ark" as Cortana states in the legendary ending. It might have damaged it enough to disrupt the portal, but that doesn't mean it destroyed it.
I can live with the Ark becoming relevant again, I don't really care about that. [sp]It's Guilty Spark surviving a few good Spartan Laser shots to the face when not one thing in-story implied he was trying to back himself up or save his memory or anything, so that he could return as a potential antagonist again. He was a pathetic 'final boss' but that basically invalidates the player's feelings of satisfaction for kicking his ass due to killing Johnson.[/sp]
