It's fully rendered in-game presumably with cut-scenes and random dev cam trickery added in.

If Rome 2 has any modability the first thing I want is a swap of the Rome 2 battle advisor for the first Rome battle advisor, and all the unit voices back.

The color pallet is how it tends to look when you invade a town in north africa at sunset you absolute dolt! They already explained this. In all my years, i've never seen a gamer bitch at the prospect of visual and atmospheric diversity.
