I don't know what I want more, the game or the music used in that trailer.

Why are people rating this late? Second half of the video is new footage.

It's old alpha footage.
Game looks legitimately horrifying. I love the twisted style.

Wrong.
Darkseed 3 is looking good.
Hard to believe that is inspired on H.R Giger works. There should be a lot of phallic and vaginal-shaped designs.
gun reminds me a lot of eXistentZ

that would just be flat out HR Giger based. It's definitely inspired in the fact it's just a huge grotesque and uncomfortable biomechanical alien world, can't get much more Giger than that (without the whole "overtly rapey imagery" thing).
It needs more atmosphere though, right now it's a bit too open/airy/blank, and not in an uncomfortable way, more just an unfinished way

this looks like a big mess of biology, except that it's also very static
so far this game looks like a giant model viewer; the maps don't seem alive for something meant to be entirely organic
really gives me a lot more of a beksinsky vibe
We already went over this in the last thread. The artstyle is like a hybrid of Beksinsky and a few other artists but architecturally, it's more like Giger but without penises and vaginas everywhere
can't you just FEEL it on your eyeballs?

Really like how our protag' follows the same principles in design as the fucked up abominations and the environment.
Got some Half-Life Xen factory vibes here and there too only mixed with Quake and System Shock, this is something I definitely want to see more of in the future.
Hype

Also his design is straight up cool as fuck.
Got a whole "have no mouth but must scream" thing going on with the bottom part of the helmet looking like skeletal hands grasping around his jaw.

I hope it gets way the fuck deeper and dark than soma
and not in any try hard ways, not that soma was try hard, but in some genuinely clever ways.
What kind of game is this anyway? The visuals are exciting but what is it?
An FPS with puzzles?
An FPS/RPG?

Mostly puzzle centric. Each area of the game has a specific visual theme and thematic focus.

I can't handle anything darker than SOMA. there was never any hope to begin with unless you do a lot of mental gymnastics like I did

Frankly I think that's the most 'real shit' story we're gonna see for some time.
Not that I doubt this game will do something interesting on the story front but SOMA was so realistic in how it went about the scenario you were stuck in, it was immediately easy to relate to the main character and the problems he faced.
this looks insane, I love it.
hopefully the dev team makes some reference to aliens and xenomorphs in the architecture, that'd be nice.
