The horses in Skyrim are hardly and strong, what they lack in speed they make up for in endurance.

It wouldn't work due to LODs and shit having to load for you. Dragons are just too fast.

There was a dragon mount mod for Oblivion that worked fine, and [sp]there's already an animation for riding a dragon anyway[/sp]
