Oh and I thought they were making fun of how things become crap and expensive when commercialized since corporations go "most product, least cost". So what, they were saying the quality would improve and it would be cheaper? It was all sarcasm? They are making fun of something. What was it then?

Why not again what? Smoke with my dad? I don't live with him. So I don't see him as often as I'd want. And we didn't meet to smoke either. We went to our summerhouse but it was raining so instead of making a camp fire we stayed inside. I didn't even know we're going to smoke until he pulled out a big bag of weed out of a cupboard.
