That was incredible. Yet again, Nintendo pushes their Mario game into a totally different mechanic that changes everything. It's kinda like a reverse Kirby.

Have to agree that art style seems really inconsistent, opening with that dinosaur I didn't think this was a real trailer.
It looks like when GMOD/SFM animators pull random models from all over the place and just throw them together. I'm confused why they went that route. Mechanic could be interesting I suppose though.
I think that's the point, guys. He's travelling all over the world so things don't all look like the mushroom kingdom we know and love.

Okay that is a valid point but doesn't change the fact that its jarring. It looks really out of place smacking a cartoony mustache and hat with googly eyes on a realistically modeled and textured dinosaur.

That's the point. It's supposed to capture the feeling of visiting foreign lands for the first time. Having different art styles for the different kingdoms makes plenty of sense, and they still all fit with Mario (even New Donk City imo).

Again, that's the point, it's all about Mario traveling to not-Mario places, he's supposed to look out of place. That's the whole premise of the game.

I'm going to get dumbed to hell and back, but I want to clarify. I understand, now especially, that that is the point. Yes it is intentional and makes sense with the premise, I am glad you guys pointed that out to me. In spite of knowing all of that, I STILL think it looks visually unappealing, just because it is intentional doesn't mean it works or looks good. That's just my opinion of course.
That being said the game will probably be fun, because this is Nintendo after all.

i like the concept that the mushroom kingdom exists along side countries and places where there are regular ass people walking around and living life.
