I love that film.
I don't get the mindset.
Play BF2 or 1942 if you want to play "true" battlefield then.
I don't get it...
What film was that, and what happened to battlefield?
What film was that, and what happened to battlefield?
Metropolis.

BF3 became a bit more COD-like in its gameplay
BF3 became a bit more COD-like in its gameplay
yeah cause wide open maps with vehicles and classes is very cod like right?

Unlimited sprint, chokepoint level design, cutting the commander, 4 player only squads.
Battlefield 3 was without a doubt a step down from Battlefield 2 and made less complex.
Though this video is mostly people crying about ea shutting down the original forums, though nothing off true value was lost.

That's saying alot

You know what i mean

You realize the EU UK BF forums being shut down was basically EA's extreme way of saying "LALALA WE'RE NOT LISTENING" to the general criticism of BF3 there, right?

Just having a bit of fun pointing out that BF3 was dumbed down compared to its predecessors.

Woah woah woah, now sure it was less complex but to say it was a step down is just silly, I mean the game was fantastic

BF4 has VOIP and Commander and all that shit, also large maps? BF3 has some fuckin' huge maps IDK what you're on about

Large maps that have limits on how high you can fly before your plane just floats and makes you an easier target that painting yourself with a target sign on your jet, that says underneath it; "FREE KILL"
Large maps that have no variety, and are still point to point. Large maps that have no reward for going around the points to flank.
The 'large' maps you consider large, are actually realistically, small, and condensed. The skybox and Battlefield 3's engine make them look bigger than they actually are.
If you want big maps, look at Project Reality. They did large maps pretty well. Hell, they did everything pretty darn well considering it is a old, old engine.
o7 Mistakes were made

Didn't think about it that way, bu it makes sense.

What's so hard to understand about people wanting a sequel to be actually better than its predecessor?
If Battlefield 3 is the game that turned Battlefield into CoD I'd like to know what Bad Company was.
If Battlefield 3 is the game that turned Battlefield into CoD I'd like to know what Bad Company was.
I saw it as a spinoff.
I am not saying Bad Company or BF3 are bad, i just don't like the the direction they took.
Yeah this is pretty much how battlefield died for me in anime form.
I saw it as a spinoff.
Only in name. If they are developed by the same team and marketed with the same pressure and used to fill the space between earlier and later releases than they are Battlefield games. Battlefield 3 doesn't have more of an obligation on fulfilling your "BF2 with nicer graphics" demands than Bad Company did so I'm just wondering why the latter doesn't catch nearly as much flak for simplifying the series, especially after BF3 went back on most of what it did (map size, class complexity, player count).
I feel like this represents what happened to Dice when everyone kept complaining. The simply couldn't handle it all and blew up the product and released premium to salt the wounds after their tower blew up.
It was funny when Battlefield 3 came out and people were complaining that the guns didn't fire in a fucking cone. Apparently having better infantry combat was detrimental to the gameplay.
Can't say it's a bad game since I have over 900 hours spent on it, but they did dumb it down a lot from BF2 (And they said themselves they were bringing the threshold down)
I'd prefer BF4 to be more like BF2 than BF3. Maps in BF3 feel like a clusterfuck with 64 players.
I dont think I quite get it.
It's an exaggeration for comedic effect.
Holy fuck.

I'd rather not have to play older games
older games don't flow as well as newer games, but sometimes newer games really lose what it is to be THAT particular game.
shivers up my spine watching that scene
Unlimited sprint
I don't ever remember COD having infinite sprint.
