Here is some of the experiences I have had in Clone Wars RP
Episode 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=af50F1KlTbw
Episode 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liP4F_URIqo
Episode 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9a5okdLWU8
Episode 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXOpr8l0ul4
Never knew this existed. Seems cool in a cheesy way.

Episode 3 was pretty damn cool
Have you tried any of the Star Wars TRPGs?
Theses videos make me wonder why there isn't Rp servers in Jedi Academy or Movie Battles 2. I mean we now have the source codes for these games, why can't there be a way to rev engineer them for such a gamemode
I'd love a Youtube channel dedicated to these odd GMod RPs I've never heard about.
Thank you all for the warm comments!!!

I make videos like that but no one wants to really watch them :(
Oh well at least people like yourself enjoy them :)

There were RP servers on Jedi Academy, keyword being were.
There were RP servers on Jedi Academy, keyword being were.
Unfortunately I think that's the keyword on most unique RP servers on gmod.
Unfortunately I think that's the keyword on most unique RP servers on gmod.
As much as I grew to detest the community and Gmod RP in general, the Terminator Roleplay done by Taco and Banana was actually fun. Of course, that also meant dealing with the awful admins, the weird and stupid drama, the weird and stupid Delta Squad, [sp]imagine if every character were Lightning from FF13 and a whore. Every single member in Delta Squad (the Medical squad) was a female and they all played like they were a badass anime character who could do weird action shit. And they wanted to fuck everything that moved and held roleplay orgies and shit,[/sp] and the bullshit the players on the Terminator side were allowed to pull, [sp]Human players could have their character permanently killed at any time if they were outside a human base. Of course, the Terminators were allowed to raid human bases at any time they wanted, and they'd just grab players and drag them out of the base where they were then allowed to kill them off. Or they'd drag you back to whatever their base was supposed to be and try to extort the player themselves. Or more likely they'd force you to fuck someone else they'd captured otherwise they'd kill your character. Because apparently humanity hating robots that lack higher intelligence really like to watch people fuck.[/sp]
Apparently their Half-Life 2 server had all the problems I just described but like three times as bad.
At a certain point they tried to implement some fixes and curb that kind of behavior, but that didn't really help much. And after a while I got tired of the crap and just left. I don't even know if Taco and Banana still exists, I haven't played Gmod in a couple of years at least, let alone Gmod RP (like, six to seven years.)
I liked Part 4 when that thing boards the ship and there is just a huge firing line of clones.
I remember some guy talking about his experience on a clone wars RP server.
They'd constantly go through training. They'd be sent off to a mission, and, even if they succeeded, they would be told they failed and have to train again.
Apparently one of the weapons on the server was c4 or some other explosive that would mess up props, and someone managed to get a hold of some on the home-base map. They set it outside the map and, in the midst of training, it went off, killing everybody and messing up any props they had set up.
Apparently the admins were essentially holding witch hunts, accusing and banning people left and right and the owner showed up, royally pissed because he had just come home from work, and, if I remember correctly, banned some admins in addition to innocent players.
I think the guy said the server never recovered from that incident :v:

I feel like HLDJ would come in real handy too. Just have one file set to play "Yes sir" and you're golden.
I'd love a Youtube channel dedicated to these odd GMod RPs I've never heard about.
I've admined at quite a few of the stranger entries.
Whether its Skeletonkey, aka X-Men meets XCOM or Supernova which went through being a carbon copy of every SSTRP to actually being a rebuttal of it.
GmodRP is quickly dying due to the fact of the age of Gmod alone and the fact that a lot of it either becomes droves of the same people going from server to server, never really giving it a chance to live past maybe 3 to 4 months or you have the long standing ones.
Put ontop of the fact that people use it the same way you'd use F-list, its quickly devolving into a massive self masturabtory fuckfest of teenager girls and boys looking to enact weird fantasies that none should have the privy nor need to fucking deal with as admins.
Case and point: On militaryRP server, I had one trans character stab her lesbian girlfriend because she was on period and the woman refused to get ice cream. A few weeks before that, a break up occurred and would lead to someone getting run over with a fucking car during R&R. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
GmodRP is a strange beast because if you can avoid the stupidity of the whores and circlejerkers, you can get involved in some really funny/fun conversations and situations. However, as people jump ship to more recent games or outgrow the RP section, you get stuck with the circlejerkers and whores.
Part of me hopes Gmod 2 actually brings back the community, mainly so I can try a few things.

That or I find people who can help with ARMA 3 and I say fuck it. I also have a ton more stories so just go ahead and ask; I've done Mass Effect Roleplay down to stranger more niche ones.
I can only name a very very few GMOD rp servers that retain the RP aspect. One WW2 RP server and a handful of SW clone wars servers have really hit the mark for RP excellency and stuff. Its good to see serious RP is making a comeback (though its mainly in the SW section). But I feel like once this Star Wars hype dies, so will that seriousRP involving star wars will die too.
Gmod RP is this weird mixed bag of 60% mediocrity, 34% people being stupid and fucking up attempts to do actually do things, and 6% everything coming together and feeling fucking amazing.
It was one of those things I played a lot when I was younger not because you necessarily really enjoyed it, but because you felt it had a lot of potential as a concept beneath the surface. I feel the same way today about open world survival sims, which are vaguely similar, when you think about it.
GMOD RP really shines when not everyone is being a complete stick-up-the-ass about it, and it's more about having fun in a make believe setting, like how DND should be played.
The first video had me like "oh great, a bunch of assholes" but after that you could tell that the rest of his squad was kind of fucking around and having a good time.

Yeah back when I played, I wanted to be an administrator on my usual server because I thought it should be used like a DnD Dungeon Master whilst the others usually used it to slack off or build up their own factions. They thought me too immature, and being that I was probably like 13-14 at the time, they were probably right.
GMOD roleplay works the best with direction, but flexible direction. Have a guy directing the action who isn't completely anal about things going off the rails.

On this server it is not like that, you go through training to simply check if you are really interested and then if you fail the first time it is ok. It is all about having fun and the game masters are really creative.
I remember joining one of these and getting beat to death for leaving the connection room.

I feel star wars will always stick around to be honest. Even before the new film the server was doing great and star wars will always attract people for its story and atmosphere.

Ya, I was in the 212th which was Commander Cody's battalion. The guy in charge is really funny and now runs another battalion on the same server. This server is the best simply due to the fact that yes it is serious but that does not mean you cannot have fun and mess around a little, it is a game after all.

Ya... that happens but usually (and I mean on some servers) they do not post signs saying DO NOT LEAVE and then blow up anyone leaving the room. When I first came onto this server they let me into their event without any training (which is my experience in episode 1) and overall were very welcoming. Honestly I give them a lot of praise but they deserve it.
Have you tried any of the Star Wars TRPGs?
Do you mean the clockwork ones. If so then yes but I hate having to type every word I want to get out. Voice comms beat everything. This RP has some aspects of tactical and regular RP which makes for a semi-casual experience.
I host RP events myself, but gmod offers a lot of potential that I don't think these guys are for-filling.
Jedi Academy roleplay servers were the highlight of my teen years. I would come home from school and roleplay for hours every day. I miss those days and the community. :(

The forums are still there. The only reason they're still around is because of that 2 year or so stretch when they were the only game in town when it came to serious Gmod rp besides 2-3 SSTRP servers (One of which i was a regular member of before it died out).
But yeah, HL2RP was way, way worse, though I can't tell you firsthand because I didn't do enough sucking up in the forums and chat to get noticed by the admins and promoted for any actual roleplay that didn't involve being a prop for someone else.

I wish there was an entirely event-focused rp server. Like so that the server only goes up for an event and everything is small scale so it actually looks fun.
I mean these videos are great, but the first one makes you cringe. Because you have these vast geonosis plains and 3 thin droids standing in the middle.
