I recorded some timelapses while on vacation, then I edited them together.

I never post my own content on FP, but I thought this was vague enough to post. I recorded perhaps enough for 9minutes of footage, but cut a lot of it out since it was just constantly cloudy up there. Only a couple clear nights.

First time doing any serious timelapse recording in 3-4 years so I missed the first few days of nights prepping my equipment.
The stuff with the stars is fantastic.
WOAH, 2160p?
Sorry, but that's new to me.

It's been "Original" for years, but YT recently made it and 2560x1440 a proper video resolution listing.
I used to go to mountain tops just to see stars which now in days is impossible in the city.
And when you go high enough to see the top of clouds, it truly is an amazing site.
Thank you friend for doing this, it really is a beauty.
It's so weird to look up at the sky and realize everything is constantly moving.
Interesting choice of music!
If people are interested, I originally produced a 6.5minute version to another song, but it just felt too damn long for a few people I showed it to.

It has longer sections and some other scenes which I took out. I usually have really long intros on my videos traditionally.
I feel a properly orchestrated (not MIDI) song would've fit better
The visuals were amazing though. And (whether it was accidental or not) the way the music fit the timing of the foggy nighttime with the blue lights was perfect
Explosions in the Sky or This Will Destroy You would've been a cherry on top.
Probably, but I only have a license/permission to use a select set of music.

your video is impeccable.
where do you get your music from?

The vast majority of my music is just collected while looking for a specific song. In my search I'll come across lots of free music to use. I'll keep it only if it's open for commercial use since I run ads on my stuff.
If i come across an artist which gives relatively open permission to use music on YT monetized like C418 does, I generally buy all of their music off their website even If I don't plan on using it. I like to support artists who make my life easier.
Makes me wish I had a fancy camera so I could do stuff like this.
Where did you make the timelapses?
Those hills/mountains in the first timelapse look pretty
What camera did you use?

Goes well with this, if the video was longer.
Still, it's a beautiful video Brt.
what equipment did you use for this, might i ask?
Really hammers it home that we're stood on a big spinning chunk of dirt that's floating through space
I wish we were at the very edge and above the galactic plane, or in the center. Would make for some great views

Exactly what I was thinking. The stars aren't moving, it's the rotation of the Earth. Perspective.
What techniques did you use for each exposure? I mean to get pictures that well lit at night you'd have to use long exposures, and that usually results in the stars making trails all over the sky.
Plus, the part where the sun comes up and you can still see the stars. How???????????????
What country is this in?

It's in the description. Canon 60D.
Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX

Most were shot between ISO2000 and 3200 between 30 and 60seconds per frame. So one second of video might take half an hour.
Also that's not the sun, it's the moon. When the entire screen turns white, that's when the sun comes up.

I didn't put the country, but in the end of the video I say that I shot it all in Franklin, North Carolina.
I used this song as a background.
you should make some wallpapers of that. i would make some with the youtube video, but the compression (even on 4k for me) is quite visible.
Holy shit this looks amazing on my 2560x1440 monitor.
Dat 4k tho

Can you post times you want the frames from? I have the original RAW files to pull from.
You should uplaod the original video file, YouTubes compression is horrible.
I've been trying to upload it to Mega for a while now, but it keeps failing.
Part of why it might not be too clear on YT is that given the ISO ranges I used it causes lots of noise, that noise ends up taking up lots of bandwidth.
